Clovis/Merced/Madera, CA—Gospel Trip, Report 7
2/8/18 The saints gathered together at Fresno meeting hall to coordinate the gospel work for the day. Two teams went to Fresno City College and Clovis Community College. The rest of the saints went door-knocking in the near by neighborhood.
At Fresno City College, many students came by to get a study Bible, that we ran out in an hour! Many were willing to have further contact and those who couldn’t have one expressed interest to have a Bible too! One student, Andrew, has set up an appointment with the saints to meet the next day to have a Bible study.
The door-knocking team brings equally encouraging news too. Many doors were open and seven Bibles were handed out in a short time. The local saints expressed their nervousness in the very beginning, but once they get to the first open door, they were filled with the Spirit and with joy.
Prayer burden:
- Please pray for the further contact of these new ones that the Lord would release the proper shepherds.
2/9/18 Many local saints came to Fresno meeting hall for coordination and prayer this morning. It is very encouraging to see saints willingly offer their time, from work and from family to spend time in the gospel. A college age brother who very enthusiastically joined the team this morning was especially encouraging to all the saints. There were tables in Fresno State & Clovis Community College, and three door-knocking teams going out in one accord!
The saints also set up appointment today with two new contacts to have a Bible study with them. One of the contacts, A, has a hunger for the ministry. Before the saints met him, he had finished four chapters of Basic Elements of the Christian Life and wanting to get another Bible and Basic Elements of the Christian Life for his grandmother. Andrew was joyful to know what salvation really means and told the saints that he knows now he is really saved. The saints have set up a time with him next week.
The door-knocking team in Clovis initially has some issues, as they lost the map of the location for door-knocking. However, by the Lord’s sovereignty, they ended up in a new neighborhood, almost entirely Spanish-speaking. All the members in the team speaks Spanish, thus everyone was functioning. The coordination was sweet and many Bibles were passed out in the process.
The other door-knocking team in Kerman was also experiencing the readiness of the harvest. Of the first three houses they visited, they handed out three Bibles! The neighborhood was very open to the Lord’s Word, contacts were gained who are willing to have a Bible study and future follow-up.
Prayer burdens:
- Pray that the Lord will preserve A and the enemy would be bound.
- Pray for the last day of the gospel trip, that all saints will enjoy the Lord in the coordination, and will regain their strength.
- Pray for the follow-up of the contacts gained on campus, at the flea market & door-knocking.
