Minneapolis, MN—Gospel Trip, Report 7
Friday, February 7
Today was our last day of coordination. We gathered in the campus house with a few community saints for a time of singing and corporate morning revival. Afterward, we had a time of prayer over each one that came to the seminar, the ones that came to the table yesterday, and the appointments today. A number of us took a trip to Minnehaha Falls, a waterfall in Minneapolis. In the evening, we split into two groups for the young people’s meeting and a board game night with the college students.
Saturday, February 8
This morning we gathered in a home to pray for our community outreach time with the saints in Minneapolis/Brooklyn Park. A few trainees had appointments with students as well. After the time of enjoying the Lord, the trainees and saints headed out in eight groups around the neighborhood to knock on doors and hand out free New Testament Bibles. Many who answered the doors warmly received a Bible from us and spent a few minutes to talk to us in spite of the cold. We ate lunch and went ice-fishing with the saints after our morning door-knocking time. In the evening, a few trainees joined the Chinese-speaking home meetings, as well as student H, one of our contacts who has come to almost every event we have held since week one.

Lord’s Day, February 9
We had a joint table meeting with the churches in the surrounding areas at the meeting hall of the church in Brooklyn Park. We are those learning to exalt Christ, giving Him the preeminence in all aspects of our daily lives and service. There was a love feast after the meeting and it was a very sweet time of blending with the saints. After the meeting, we split for some activities in the afternoon with the college students: exploring the city and sledding in the fresh snow. In the evening, we gathered together at the campus house for our last fellowship. We reviewed our contacts, ensuring our most responsive ones were connected to the local saints, and pointed out a few things we could have improved on. We are grateful the Lord gave us this opportunity to learn and to serve with the saints in Minneapolis. It was a privilege to be a part of the Lord’s move at the University of Minnesota and in the city.
Prayer Burdens:
- Pray for the follow-up appointments with the most responsive students that were contacted
- Pray for a full-time team for the University of Minnesota
- Pray for a meeting hall for the church in Minneapolis

Wednesday, February 5th
In the morning coordination we realized that we only have three more days on campus. We started by singing, then pray-reading verses in Colossians, and lastly praying for the health of the trainees and the saints and for each specific appointment today. The brothers prepared the outline and message for the Bible study in the evening based on John 7. There was no tabling today, so groups went out to put flyers up around campus and others had appointments with students. In the Bible study there were six students, with one coming for the first time. We sang a couple hymns before getting into the Word. A few students who were studying nearby came in to bring us more chairs and told us that they enjoyed our singing. We enjoyed that the Lord is our living water and that He wants us to come to Him and drink freely!
A highlight from today was a second appointment with student C. We shared our testimonies of how the Lord became real to us and called us to go to the Training. She shared her story of turning from just fearing the Lord to loving and seeking Him. Pray that she would remain open and that the Lord would get connected to some local saints before we leave.
**Thursday, February 6th **
We had our coordination today before our last day of tabling on campus. We first began with some singing and praising the Lord for taking care of the health of the saints. A brother joined us and gave us a encouraging testimony of how he was gained and came into the church life through the contact of the saints during a gospel trip eight years ago. Then we prayed for the upcoming appointments, especially for their further connection with the local saints.
In one of the appointments today, the sisters were meeting up with student B for the third time. Initially, student B indicated that she was not seeking although she grew up in a Christian family. After one of the sisters shared her testimony of how God became real to her, student B was very thankful and felt like that was something she had never heard before in Christianity. She received a New Testament and we hope to connect her to a home meeting before we leave.
This evening we had our last seminar on the topic, “What’s the point?”. Thank you for all the prayers! We felt like the Lord really brought in some seeking ones. Thirteen students came; six of them came for the first time. A brother, who is an alumni of the university, explained that we are vessels made to contain God. We received a positive response from the students, with some expressing interest in joining future Wednesday Bible studies.

Monday, February 3
We had coordination at the campus house in the morning before heading out to campus for tabling. We first began our time together with a hymn, “Loving You, Lord’s all I’m living for”. We prayed that we would allow the Lord to have the first place in everything today, even in our tabling. We were reminded that Christ must be the centrality and universality in everything we do. Then, we had a time of prayer, mentioning our contacts by name before the Lord and standing together with the saints in China who are affected by the current situation. In the afternoon, we tabled again at the student union. A lady came to our table hoping to grab a Bible for her niece, but after we explained to her how to use the study Bible, she got a Bible for herself too.
One of the highlights of today was meeting student J. The brothers met him twice while out giving out flyers and, due to his afternoon classes being cancelled, he was free and they led him to the table where he met all the other saints. He was unexpectedly very comfortable, open, genuine, and seeking, and ended up being engaged in conversation with us for close to two hours! J is a Christian, is local, and recently returned to start a Masters program. He shared his testimony and recent enjoyment in the Scriptures with us. We found out that he is looking for a Christian community on campus, such as a club like ours. At the end, we exchanged numbers and arranged to meet for lunch the next day.
Tuesday, February 4
We started the day at the campus house with coordination as usual. During coordination, we enjoyed the Lord by singing, praying and reading a chapter of The Age of the One New Man. Then we mentioned the ones that we are meeting today so the appointments could be covered in prayer. After coordination, we headed off to tabling at the University of Minnesota Minneapolis campus and the St. Paul campus.
Student J, whom the brothers met yesterday, came for lunch and spent an hour and a half hours engaged with the brothers. He was still open and genuine with us and we learned more about him and his relationship with the Lord. We realized that J is a dear and precious brother who loves the Lord and is serious about knowing the Lord, studying the Word, pursuing the truth, and having a proper Christian walk. At the end, we invited him for the upcoming seminar on Thursday, as well as for dinner and board games on Friday and he said he would come for both! Praise the Lord for this open and seeking one!

Saturday, February 1
Today we gathered with the local saints for a time of singing and prayer before a community outreach time in the neighborhoods next to the University of Minneapolis St. Paul campus. We enjoyed Hymn 920, that the Lord would sound out the trumpet-call and He would be proclaimed as Lord of all in our going door-to-door. About 26 of us were together, 10 trainees and 16 local saints from the churches in Minneapolis and Brooklyn Park, not including a few children who joined for the time. We split up into 9 teams to go down 9 different streets in that area. We gave out Basic Elements of a Christian Life and flyers with the LSM Christian radio website and the church’s email address for people to reach out if interested. Many of the homes were student houses. We had a number of good conversations, including one that was looking for a church and open to coming to the Lord’s day meeting tomorrow. Many of the saints were encouraged by the time and were excited to go out on the gospel, which the church has been aiming to do together once a month.
In the evening we split into several groups. A few trainees joined two different Chinese-speaking home meetings. Most of the trainees stayed at the campus house for a revival meeting with some local saints. The goal was to invite and encourage saints who have not been to meetings in a while and enjoy the Lord with them.

Lord’s Day, February 2
For the table meeting, we got to blend with the churches in Minneapolis and Brooklyn Park. The saints shared on “Knowing and Experiencing the All-inclusive, Extensive Christ as the Good Land - our Allotted Portion.” Afterward, we had a love feast at the church in Minneapolis and the saints in Brooklyn Park gathered together at a local restaurant with the trainees. The saints joined us for some fun afternoon activities and for dinner.

Thursday, January 30
In the morning, we had coordination at the campus house as usual. We took time to pray over each appointment today and for the students that were personally contacted to come to the seminar tonight. Throughout the day, we had another time of tabling in the student union, and there were also a number of second appointments with students. At the seminar, a brother who graduated from the University of Minneapolis came to speak about his experiences of the Lord as the antidote for anxiety in college and after college. He shared that the easiest way to live a life free from anxiety is to call on the name of the Lord, just like the prophet Jeremiah’s experience in Lamentations 3:55-56. There were five new students that came to the seminar; they all seemed to be positive and lingered to talk more with us at the end of the event.
One of the highlights earlier today was when a trainee went out to preach the gospel with a core student in the campus club. They met a girl who said she was not religious. The sisters told her that they were not either and that they just wanted to introduce her to a living Person, the Lord Jesus. They led this student to call on the name of the Lord.
Statistics (from the last two days):
- Flyers: 313
- Tracts: 283
- Contacts: 14
- Prayed: 1
- Bibles and Basic Elements of the Christian Life: 4
- Second appointments: 4
Friday, January 31
Today, we gathered together for a time of coordination, singing, and prayer. We have really been enjoying the hymn, “What will turn our sorrows to joy? Abounding thanks, unceasing praise!”. Mentioning the ones that came to the seminar, we prayed that the Lord would open their hearts and cause them to seek Him. One encouraging story was that one student opened up about God feeling far away from him even though he grew up in a Christian home. He wanted to start talking to God and reading the Bible more. He actually had wandered into the seminar thinking it was a different group and ended up staying for the entire time.
After coordination, we headed to campus to have lunch with students. The sisters split into two groups and met with two existing students. It was good to spend some time with them, getting to know one another. The brothers also had appointments, one with a student that came to the seminar and another with a trainee’s friend that is open to us. After some rest in the afternoon, we split into several groups for Friday night meetings across Minneapolis/Brooklyn Park. One group stayed at the campus house for the Christians on Campus’s board game night with students, one group went to the young people’s meeting, and another group joined their hospitality’s home meeting. At the young people’s meeting, four trainees shared their testimonies about how they got to the Full-time Training and had a Q&A session.
Prayer Burdens:
- Pray for the ones that came to the Thursday seminar, that the Lord would stir up their hunger to know Him and His Word
- Pray for the community outreach time this Saturday as trainees and community saints go door-knocking in Minneapolis
- Pray for the Lord to cover the health of the trainees and the saints in Minneapolis/Brooklyn Park

Tuesday, January 28
In the morning we came together to coordinate at the campus house. We enjoyed the Lord by singing and praying and read a portion of “The Age of the One New Man.” Afterward we went through all the contacts that we met yesterday. A number of students came up to the table yesterday and had positive interactions with the trainees. Most of them left their phone numbers and said that they were interested in joining a Bible study this semester. Fourteen more students were contacted on campus by going out two by two. We prayed for the Lord to release a second contact with these ones and that the Lord would give us remaining fruit through all these contacts.
We set up a table today again at the University of Minnesota for five hours. There were no sign-ups at the table today, but we passed out a number of flyers, tracts, and Bibles to ones that were interested. Going around campus, we also met a few students that were open to meet up again for fellowship. Two trainees met a freshman at the university who was raised in a Christian home. We hope the Lord will release another appointment with her in the upcoming week to get into the Word.

Wednesday, January 29
This morning we had a brief coordination and went to campus to put up flyers for the Thursday seminar. The trainees split up into groups to put up 200 flyers. Even in this matter, we realized that this was a spiritual warfare and we needed much prayer for the Lord’s interest on this campus. We prayed that the Lord would open the students’ eyes to see this event and He would have a free way to gain what He is after here. A few trainees had lunch appointments with students. In the afternoon, a few sisters went to go meet a student at a local coffee shop. The girl brought her high school friend and we had a positive contact with both of them. They even offered to take us around the city next week. After dinner, we joined the Wednesday night Bible study on campus. We went over John 6, talking about how the Lord came as the bread of life, and that we can take Him in as food by pray-reading the Word. At the end of the Bible study, we practiced pray-reading in smaller groups. There were 21 people at the Bible study, including eight students. Out of the eight, one came for the first time.
One of the highlights from today was when two brothers went to have lunch with a student they met on the first day on campus. The student grew up in a Lutheran home and now meets at both a Lutheran church and a Catholic church. He admitted that he is at the stage in his life where he is unsure about his faith and is wondering about the meaning of his life. The brothers ended up sharing about how they became Christians and how God’s purpose in creating man was to have man express Him. He was open to meeting us again to find out more about the meaning of human life and God’s eternal purpose.

January 25th
We arrived in Minneapolis, MN! It’s snowy but the temperatures are not too cold this week. We met the saints we are staying with and had a sweet time of blending with them in the evening. Around 6 pm, the 10 of us with about 20 saints from Brooklyn Park, Minneapolis and a few from Madison, WI gathered together for a love feast and a time of singing, pray-reading, and introductions. We prayed for the Lord to send us to many in Minneapolis for their eyes to be opened and for them to receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those (Acts 26:17-18). It was encouraging to hear one another’s recent experiences and enjoyments of the Lord. We are excited to be laboring together as one heavenly team.
January 26th
On Lord’s day, four of us joined the table meeting in Brooklyn Park and six were in Minneapolis. The saints prophesied about the will of God concerning the all-inclusive, extensive Christ from the previous Thanksgiving conference. Afterward, we went sight-seeing with some saints at Ice Castles, saw snow sculptures, ate some donuts, ate dinner, and then saw ice sculptures. It was very cherishing to spend time with the saints and explore the wonderful city that will be our home for the next two weeks.
January 27th
First day on the campus! We gathered together at the campus house at 8:30 am for a time of prayer and coordination. Then we headed to campus for tabling and going out two by two to preach the gospel and pass out flyers for upcoming campus events. Several community saints also joined us for the sowing time on campus. The main objectives were to pass out as many flyers as possible and establish meaningful contacts with the students.

Fargo, ND/Minneapolis, MN—Gospel Trip, Days 13-14
Today was our last day on the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis campus. We passed out 40 Bibles and five prayed to receive the Lord. We had another appointment with sister M and although she is unable to make it to the home meeting tonight, she is planning on coming to a Bible seminar tomorrow at a local park. A newly saved student named S had her third appointment this week with a trainee and a local sister. She attended the home meeting tonight! Additionally, many student brothers received a Bible and desired further contact. One football player named J is open to coming tomorrow night to the Bible seminar.
The Lord has truly blessed these last two weeks in Fargo and Minneapolis. Our time will come to an end tomorrow evening at a Bible seminar at a local park. Students were invited, as well as any Bibles for America book recipients in the surrounding areas who had received literature in previous years.
Tomorrow as a conclusion to our time spent here in the Midwest, we will be driving onto a lake to go ice fishing. After a time of lunch and fellowship, we will have a Bible seminar in the evening.
Prayer burdens:
- Sister M would be connected to a local sister and attend the Bible seminar tomorrow night
- Sister S would make the decision to be baptized and enter fully into the church life!
- Many students and local BfA recipients could attend the Bible seminar and be fed richly in the word
- The Lord would infuse the local saints in Minneapolis and Brooklyn Park with His burden for others, releasing the adequate follow-up care.
Fargo, ND/Minneapolis, MN—Gospel Trip, Day 12
Hallelujah! We are filled with praises! What a joy and privilege to be in the central work of God! Not only for us to be under His dispensing, but bringing others into the dispensing of the Triune God!
- Today was filled with many encouraging appointments and reports. Today we met with S, a student who prayed to receive the Lord with us yesterday, and we shared with her the mystery of her human life. She was very receptive and would like to start reading the Bible with some sisters.
- Another student, M, who had an appointment yesterday, attended the Bible seminar tonight on God’s economy and was underlining and highlighting her Bible as the brothers were presenting the divine truths. She plans on coming to a home meeting this week (fourth face to face appointment). Her parents are Jehovah’s Witnesses and oppose her being a believer but she is seeking the Lord faithfully regardless of the opposition she has received from her family.
- Two freshman students, M and C, attended the Bible seminar, enjoyed seeing God’s economy, and were connected to read the Bible with a local working brother! They also would like to come to a home meeting this week.
- A young local sister joined two appointments with two students, C and A. C opened up about a recent personal struggle in her Christian life, and A was very eager to get into the footnotes of her new recovery version Bible. The young local sister felt that the appointments were really a mutual shepherding, and she now has a renewed desire and burden to shepherd the new contacts with other community sisters.
Prayer burdens:
- May the Lord cause S to long for the guileless milk of the Word and release her baptism!
- The Lord would honor M’s seeking heart in bringing her to a home meeting and connecting her with the local saints.
- M and C would be released for a home meeting this week and would be solidly connected with brother C.
- Pray for the Lord’s leading in how to follow up with C and A, and to get them connected to the local sisters.
Here is one update from our time last week in Fargo. Thank you all for your prayers for A. the local student from the Midwest who we met on campus and had four appointments with the sisters, to be connected with the local saints. We received an update today saying that A will be having an appointment with a local sister, sister D, this upcoming Friday! Hallelujah! May she be fully connected and immersed in the church life with the local saints.
Fargo, ND/Minneapolis, MN—Gospel Trip, Day 11

Little by little, the Lord is softening some at the University of Minnesota. Lastly, we will be having two crucial Bible seminars tomorrow night regarding the economy of God that we hope many of those we contacted could attend.
In the evening, we attended the prayer meeting of the church in Minneapolis. We enjoyed Hymn #690, “Prayer is over, praise begun. Hallelujah, ‘It is done.’” Jesus is Lord in Minneapolis!

- The Lord would save T and her friend and bring them to an appointment.
- Brother N would touch life and his spirit this Friday.
- Many students would be released to attend the Bible seminars tomorrow night and their eyes would be opened to see God’s economy.
Fargo, ND/Minneapolis, MN—Gospel Trip, Days 9-10
2/1/15: Today was the last day of our time in Fargo, North Dakota. We had the last meeting of the mini conference regarding God’s building and God’s goal this morning. After lunch with the local saints we traveled about four hours Southeast to Minneapolis.
2/2/15: Today was our first day on the University of Minnesota. We passed out 65 Bibles and 10 prayed to receive the Lord. We feel the open responses from the students is due to all the prayers of the saints. The Lord has truly gone before us.
- One student, sister K, who is from Hong Kong prayed to receive the Lord and attended the home meeting tonight. She enjoyed the testimonies from the local saints and trainees.
- Another student (T) came to the table and was open for further contact. She will be having an appointment tomorrow with the sisters.
- Another brother, (brother M) also received the Lord and is open for further fellowship yet has a midterm this week so his schedule is quite busy.
- Another student, sister M, came to the table, received a Bible and the sisters will be meeting with her tomorrow. We ended the night with a home meeting in which some trainees and local saints shared regarding how they came to meet the Lord. It was a marvelous display of the Lord’s testimony.
Prayer burdens:

- The Lord would bless the appointment with sister M and release another appointment this week.
- The Lord would save T and her friend.
- The Lord would bring many open students to the Bible seminars on Wednesday (2/4) evening.
Fargo, ND/Minneapolis, MN—Gospel Trip, Days 3-4
Tonight we had dinner at a couple’s home who are friends of one of the local sisters. They spent a brief amount of time with the team that visited during the 2014 gospel trip but haven’t been very responsive since then. However, they were willing to have us all over to their home for dinner, singing and fellowship. He and his wife left their denomination but are not currently meeting with anyone. This is one quote from the brother, “Our house will never be the same. You have raised the whole spiritual atmosphere of this house. The Lord is here.”
Tuesday was our first day with a gospel table at two campuses, North Dakota State University (NDSU) and Minnesota State University at Moorhead (MSUM). At NDSU fourteen Bibles were given out and four people received the Lord! Specifically, one junior nursing student, a close friend of a local nursing student, received the Lord in a definite way. He is open to a follow-up appointment this week. At MSUM five Bibles were given out. One student walked up to the table and received a Bible. She is open for a follow up appointment for Thursday (1/29) and invited her friend who may or may not be saved. Later on in the day she sent this to one of the trainees, “I can’t wait to share experiences about God. I love seeing how He works in other people’s lives.” Another brother contact is open for a Bible study tomorrow (1/28).
Prayer burdens:
- For the couple whose home we visited to attend the mini conference this weekend and make a full transfer into the reality of the kingdom of the heavens.
- The schedule of the junior nursing student would free up for a further appointment and that he would be baptized!
- The Lord would fill the NDSU Bible seminar Wednesday night with much fruit! Especially that these four saved ones would be able to attend. The topic is the Key to Experiencing Christ: The Human Spirit.
- The Lord would infuse life into the MSUM appointments on Wednesday with the two open students.
