London/ Guelph, ON—Gospel Trip, Report 5

February 10, 2020

For the past few days the team in Guelph has been laboring on reaching out and following up on all of the contacts met at the table on the University of Guelph. There have been many second appointments on campus and the team has been very encouraged by the response of the students.

In addition to many follow up appointments on campus, the team has also spent a lot of time with the local saints, young people (YP), and college students. On Thursday night the team shared their testimony with the YP concerning how they pursued the Lord when they were YP. This was followed up by a question and response time by the YP.

On Friday night, the team shared their testimony with the college students concerning how they got to the training and what lead them to the training.

  • Bibles - 143
  • Contacted - 200

London/ Guelph, ON—Gospel Trip, Report 4

February 4, 2020

On Saturday, the team had a time of overflow with the saints in London, before leaving for Guelph. During this past week in London, the Lord has surely blessed us. While preaching the gospel and bearing fruit is surely a long-term labor, the Lord has done superabundantly above all that we can ask or think. The Lord was able to reach many families in the Dresden and Alymer area, students on the campus through our going out on the gospel and even follow-up appointments, and those locally in the community. Perhaps, above all, the team in its outreach in London saw a little more of the building up of the Body of Christ.

Our statistics for this week are as follows:

  • Tracts: 1021
  • Bibles: 90
  • Contacted: 225
  • Prayed: 26
  • Second appointment: 12
  • Visited: 3

Please continue to pray for the Lord’s move in Southern Ontario, particularly this week at the University of Guelph. Although we will spend several days tabling on the campus, we hope to return, both to Aylmer and to London, for follow-up appointments with the seeking ones.

Prayer Burdens:

  • For the Lord to continue strengthening and supplying all the saints involved in GTCA.
  • For the Lord to bring the sons of peace to the table and for the saints to contact them with the humanity of Jesus.
  • For the Lord to cover all the seeking contacts, that there would be follow-up with them this week, and that each one would be connected to a local shepherd.

London/ Guelph, ON—Gospel Trip, Report 3

February 3, 2020

For the past few days the London team has labored with the following three burdens in view:

  1. Appointments on campus with established contacts
  2. The Bibles for Canada seminar
  3. Shepherding the young people at the young people’s meeting

Every team has had their hands full with appointments with established contacts on Western University and some teams have even met with the same contacts on multiple occasions. The Lord has really caused a hunger for the word on this campus, and in many appointments the contacts themselves came with questions for the team concerning the Bible and concerning God. One contact in particular was so impressed with the footnotes of the Recovery Version that the very next day they invited their housemates to come for an appointment to see what it was all about.

This evening the team hosted two Bibles for Canada seminar - one on King’s college and another at the meeting hall in London. At the Bibles for Canada seminar, 29 attendees showed up with three new ones and all three were saved and called on the Lord!

Lastly, the trainees had the opportunity Thursday night to share their testimony to the young people.

Prayer Burdens:

  • Pray for all of the appointments and key contacts the team met with this week. Pray that they would all continue on with their relationship with the Lord, their reading of the bible, and that they would be further connected to some in the church life here.
  • Pray for the three that received the Lord at the Bibles for Canada seminar this evening that they would grow in the Lord
  • Pray for the young people in London and their going on together.

London/ Guelph, ON—Gospel Trip, Report 2

January 29, 2020

On Monday January 27th, as a team we went to Western University and King’s College to set up a BfC table, pass out flyers for the Bible seminar on Friday, and preach the gospel on campus. The students were very receptive to the tables with many receiving a Bible, and a number of them praying with us to receive the Lord. Unfortunately, however, we will be unable to table the rest of the week at King’s College.

Today the team split into two separate teams. One team went to a town called Aylmer for a Bible distribution, and the other team went to a town called Thamesville to host a BfC (Bibles for Canada) seminar. In total there were 33 adults, 3 of which we had never met before and a number of saints of the Mennonite background who within the last year came into the Lord’s recovery. Although it was not a big number, all who attended felt it was a very sweet and uplifting time of blending for all the saints in the area. There are many saints scattered throughout southwest Ontario and times of blending such as these are really treasured. A word was spoken on the blessings to the church in Ephesians 1: the Father’s choosing, the Son’s redeeming, and the Spirit’s sealing and pledging. Afterward the saints got together in small groups to read and enjoy the footnotes and cross references of these marvelous blessings. Some of the full-timers and FTTA trainees will stay around Dresden for the night and have breakfast with the saints in the morning. Praise the Lord for blending the saints together in this part of the province!

Statistics

Tracts: 243
Bibles: 58
Contacted: 110
Prayed: 13

Prayer Burdens:

  • That the Lord would bind the enemy and continue to go on in an unhindered way the rest of this gospel trip
  • For the Bible seminar at King’s college this Friday - that the Lord would bless each invitation and stir up so many students from both campuses
  • For all of the families that came to the seminar at Thamesville and Aylmer - that the Lord would guard the good deposit and continue His growth in them

London/ Guelph, ON—Gospel Trip, Report 1

January 26, 2020

The London/ Guelph ON Team arrived in Toronto on Friday January 24th. That evening, the team drove to London ON where the first half of the gospel trip will be. Many others, full-timers and local volunteers, from eastern Canada including Toronto and Montreal traveled to London as well.

On Saturday 1/25 the full timers, full time trainees, and local volunteer saints all gathered together for an orientation of our time in London. The two major burdens for the first week in London are:

  1. To establish a testimony for the Lord at Western University and King’s College through our table, gospel outreach, and truth seminar on Friday.
  2. To reach the local community saints, most of them from the Mennonite background, in the local towns of Dresden and Aylmer through door knocking and truth seminars on Tuesday. The orientation was followed by a tour of the aforementioned college campuses.

On Sunday 1/26 after the Lord’s table meeting the full time trainees as well as the full timers shared their testimony to all of the saints in London for mutual encouragement. That afternoon a number of saints from the team went out to Dresden and Alymer to knock on doors, pass out tracts, and send out invitations for the Tuesday truth seminar.

Statistics:

  • Tracts passed out: 265
  • Bibles passed out: 9

Prayer Burdens:

  • For the Lord to have a way to move on the local college campuses Western University and King’s College through our gospel outreach and Friday Seminar
  • For the Lord to prepare the seeking ones in the communities of Dresden and Aylmer, to bless each invitation and door knocked on today, and the truth seminars in both cities on Tuesday
  • For the health and well being of all the attendees of this gospel trip
