In Fresno State University, a brother asked a student if he wanted a Bible and he was willing to receive one. He was asked if John 3:16 was his favorite verse and the student said yes. The fellowship began by a question, “Do you believe this verse?†His answer was, yes. The brother then replied, “Now you need to say it out loud,” and showed him Romans 10:9-13. The brother again asked the student if he believed that He is Lord and that He died and was raised on the third day. The student said yes, and was led to call on the name of the Lord, and he said, “Oh Lord Jesus! I believe that You resurrected and I believe You” Praise the Lord that now this one has the life of God!
In Fresno City College, there was this student who was asked if he wanted a Bible. He nodded yes, and before the brother was able to explain about the Bible, he asked if there were Bible studies. The saints mentioned to him that it was the first time on this campus and that their hope is to get four or five interested students to get a Bible study started. His face lit up and he asked if they had gotten the four already and the team told him that he could be the first. Although he then seemed discouraged that there had not been anyone else interested yet, he was open and willing to give us his information to send him a text message when they would start.
During door-knocking, the saints went to a house and the garage was open. There was a young lady and they asked if her parents were home. She responded right away that she was old enough and they could talk to her. She was open and read the word with the saints, and even if her father came to get some part of conversation back and forth she never blinked an eye. She was very attracted to the speaking and was interested in a Bible study.
At another door, the saints asked a woman, “Do you believe God?” and she said yes. They then asked her what His name was and she answered that she didn’t know. They told her that His name is Jesus. That when we call on Him, as He is the Spirit, he enters into us, and they brought her to call on His name a few times. She had a hard time reading English but she understood it and got one because she had children. The saints then commanded her to call stronger and she obeyed. She called and she was saved!
Prayer Requests:
- There will be a seminar on Fresno State University, at the library
- There will be a Bible study in Clovis Community College, at the designated area for tabling
- There will be a small Bible study at Fresno City College, Friday also at a designated area
- These two days on campus, 36 students are open for further follow-up and gave us their contact information. Pray that those who were texted would continue to be open and that the Lord would bring many for the events listed above.
- The Lord is doing so much just in two days that there is a big burden for a team to care for this harvest. Oh Lord, what about a team in Fresno and Clovis!
