Santa Rosa/Novato, CA—Gospel Trip, Day 4
Twenty local saints and serving ones from Northern California joined us today, and we continued the gospel outreach on Sonoma State University (SSU) and the nearby communities. We are very encouraged that the Lord is so faithful to guide and lead us through our prayers. This is our second day out at SSU, and so far there are 26 students open for further contact and 21 people from the community open to have us come back to their house to deliver the Bible to them. Among these 47 contacts, 13 of them prayed with us and received the Lord, and 13 students are interested in joining a Bible study.
Activity highlights:
- Two sisters had our first appointment with a freshman Christian sister who we met yesterday at the table. The sisters had a very enjoyable time together. This student is very open and would like to join us for dinner this Friday. Please pray that she can make it to the dinner this Friday and be well connected with the saints.
- The sister’s two friends that we met on 1/25 and 1/26 came for dinner tonight and we spent about an hour after dinner singing to the Lord. Please continue to pray that life will grow in these two friends, preserve them in the church life, and the Lord will continue building up the companionship of these three freshmen sisters.
- Yesterday the door-knocking team met with three students who live across the street from campus and the house is only several blocks away from the saint’s house. Two of them prayed and received the Lord. We revisited them today to deliver the Bibles, and they appreciated the footnotes very much. They are open to have a bible study with the saints. Please pray for the follow up contact with them. May the Lord open up the opportunity to have a small bible study at their house.
Prayer burdens:
- Please continue praying for the gospel outreach on the SSU campus and the nearby community, that the gospel will reach out to people in an unhindered way, that many hearts will turn from darkness to light and life.
- We can invite our contacts for dinner at the saint’s house every day during these two weeks. Please pray that the Lord will gain some core students to have a taste of the sweet church life and be captured by the controlling vision of God’s economy.
- We are very encouraged that many students are interested in joining a Bible study, but with our current capacity we can only provide one Bible study each week. It is a challenge to fit everyone’s schedule. Please pray that the Lord would lead us and sovereignly arrange the best time and location for this semester’s Bible study.
- Also pray that the Lord would burden some young saints and families to move to this white field.
