Lexington, KY—Gospel Trip, Report 2

January 27

We set up two tables at University of Kentucky (UK). The Lord blessed us with a pleasant weather and we were able to have meaningful conversations with a good number of students, showing them the riches of the footnotes in the Recovery Version. One highlight was our time with a female student. Two saints took care of her by accompanying her for two hours to help look for her lost phone. Later, she told us that she was actually going through a difficult family situation at that time, and that she was so encouraged as a believer by the Lord’s love expressed through the saints.

January 28

We split up our team into two sub-teams to go onto the campuses of UK and Eastern Kentucky University (EKU). The weather was colder and there were fewer people who made the time to stop by the table at UK. Regardless, we still were able to have some meaningful conversations with students and faculty. One student stopped by our table to tell us how happy she was to see what we were doing on campus. In EKU, many students were very open to us and were seeking to grab Bibles for themselves and their friends. We were able to distribute substantial number of Bibles and ministry literature in short amount of time. Praise the Lord for these open students!

Praise the Lord that many of the local saints were able to come join us on campus for these two days! It was wonderful to blend and serve together with them for the Lord’s move. Afterwards, we also had the opportunity to have dinner and blend with some of the local saints and families in Lexington. We shared our testimonies with one another and had sweet fellowship.

May the Lord continue to gain what He is after here in Lexington!

Statistics:

  • Bibles distributed: 110+
  • We had an appointment to read the bible with a student at UK!
  • One student prayed to receive the Lord at EKU!

Prayer Burdens:

  • Pray for the Lord would cover the health of the team here in Lexington. Some of the trainees have not been feeling well, especially due to the colder weather.
  • Pray for the Lord would bring many students to the Bible studies this week (Wednesday and Thursday) in UK.

Columbia, SC—Gospel Trip, Report 1

January 29, 2020

The gospel trip team arrived Saturday afternoon for lunch and a walk at Conagree National Park with some local saints. We concluded our first day with a bbq dinner at the home of one of the local families, followed by singing and enjoying the Lord. On Lord’s Day we broke bread with the church in Columbia. In addition, there were some saints blending from Augusta, GA. Our prophesying meeting was abundantly rich with members from many places sharing their portions. We enjoyed the love feast after the meeting. We were able to blend and get to know not just the saints from Columbia, but those from Augusta as well.

In the afternoon our team toured the University of South Carolina (USC). We scoped out the campus for our Bible distribution that starts today. For dinner, we ate in the home of another local family, and we ended the evening with some singing and prayer. Prior to our Bible distribution at USC, the team met together to enjoy the Lord and coordinate with some singing, prayer, and truth pursuit; we, along with the local saints, started reading The Age of the One New Man.

Some of us had a meal at Waffle House earlier in the day. One of the brothers decided we should come back and give them the real waffles, the wonderful Word of God!

On the USC campus, we spent three hours tabling outside the student union (the Russell House) and walking around in pairs to pass out Bibles and to meet students. We were able to distribute many bibles and even arranged some second appointments with students.

Sunday (1/26/20)

We arrived in Orlando Saturday night, and joined 40 saints for a home meeting and dinner. Around 100 saints from Orlando and Kissimmee met for the Lord’s table the next morning at the meeting hall in Apopka. We enjoyed a love feast and had prayer and coordination for the upcoming week. That night, we went to a brother’s house for a BBQ for the YP. We played games, sang, and the trainees shared brief testimonies about attending the FTTA. It was a wonderful and sweet time of fellowship!

Monday (1/27/20)

Around 10 community saints joined the 12 trainees for prayer and coordination in the morning. Saints from Tampa, Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale, and Athens also joined us! We went to two Seminole State campuses, six trainees to each: Lake Mary and Altamonte. At the Lake Mary campus, we reconnected with two girls from the Republic of Congo with whom the saints in Orlando have had regular fellowship for over a year. Several students expressed interest in having a Christian club on campus in the near future. At the Altamonte campus, 10 students were open to joining for our Friday meeting this week.

Two new ones joined the home meeting at night and enjoyed the potluck style dinner and singing. One of the new ones suggested we all pray together and read a portion out of Acts 2. Altogether, there were almost 50 people, comprised of trainees, local and visiting saints, and new ones.

Statistics:

  • Tracts: 59
  • Bibles: 58
  • Basic Elements of the Christian Life: 30

Minneapolis—Gospel Trip, Report 1

January 27, 2020

January 25th

We arrived in Minneapolis, MN! It’s snowy but the temperatures are not too cold this week. We met the saints we are staying with and had a sweet time of blending with them in the evening. Around 6 pm, the 10 of us with about 20 saints from Brooklyn Park, Minneapolis and a few from Madison, WI gathered together for a love feast and a time of singing, pray-reading, and introductions. We prayed for the Lord to send us to many in Minneapolis for their eyes to be opened and for them to receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those (Acts 26:17-18). It was encouraging to hear one another’s recent experiences and enjoyments of the Lord. We are excited to be laboring together as one heavenly team.

January 26th

On Lord’s day, four of us joined the table meeting in Brooklyn Park and six were in Minneapolis. The saints prophesied about the will of God concerning the all-inclusive, extensive Christ from the previous Thanksgiving conference. Afterward, we went sight-seeing with some saints at Ice Castles, saw snow sculptures, ate some donuts, ate dinner, and then saw ice sculptures. It was very cherishing to spend time with the saints and explore the wonderful city that will be our home for the next two weeks.

January 27th

First day on the campus! We gathered together at the campus house at 8:30 am for a time of prayer and coordination. Then we headed to campus for tabling and going out two by two to preach the gospel and pass out flyers for upcoming campus events. Several community saints also joined us for the sowing time on campus. The main objectives were to pass out as many flyers as possible and establish meaningful contacts with the students.

Statistics:

Flyers: ~600 Tracts: 100
Contacts: 21

Prayer Burdens:

  • Pray for this week of coordination and tabling on the University of Minnesota campus, for the Lord to open the hearts of the students.
  • Pray for 20 students to come to the seminar this Thursday on “Living a life free from anxiety”.
  • Pray for 10 solid students to be contacted and connected to the local saints by the end of our trip in 2 weeks.
  • Pray for the brothers’ appointments with A and R in the upcoming weeks.

Airdrie, AB—Gospel Trip, Report 1

January 27th

Today, six trainees went to the University of Calgary for a Bible distribution and distributed seven bibles. The university is very strict about tabling and will only allow us to distribute bibles to students who approach the table instead of us actively handing them out. Therefore, the seven students who approached the table were genuinely interested, eager and open to receiving a free study Bible. One student approached the table while we were packing up to leave and was very interested in the club. Two college students connected with her and invited her to the club welcome dinner.

Two trainees also went to Ambrose University to have an appointment with college students who are planning on attending the Full-Time Training next fall. The college students from Ambrose University gave us a tour of their small Christian private school and were eager to show us the Watchman Nee books they found in their school library. Their library is one of the largest private academic libraries in western Canada.

Prayer Burdens:

  • For the seven Bible recipients to receive much life and light from the word and for the next five Bible distributions on this campus.
  • For one student who approached the table to attend the welcome dinner on Wednesday, January 29th.
  • For the Lord to prepare the two college students in Ambrose university to come to the training next fall.
  • For the college meeting tomorrow night. The trainees will be sharing their experience in the training with all the college students in Calgary.
