Palo Alto, CA—Gospel Trip, Report 7
The saints in Palo Alto have continued steadfastly in the spreading of the good news in both the community and at Stanford. Thursday was the weekly Bible study and four brand new students came through the labor and contact from the previous week. Students shared their testimonies and were eager to hear from others’ experiences living for Christ. The subject was on Daniel and having a heart set on God, a subject which the students could really related to. In total, 15 students attended the Bible study.
Then, tonight at the Friday small group meeting, three Stanford students came for their first time! The time was sweet and mutual with saints sharing their experience eating the Word of God. The atmosphere was so warm and loving. We are just full of thanks to the Lord.
In the community, the saints have made many contacts, some of which are seeking believers. A policeman even came to the BfA table and thanked us for being there and giving away Bibles. We had some fellowship with him and even asked him to pray for us. Instead of walking away, he began to pray right there on the spot. It was truly a testimony to those around us as we shared a moment of prayer for the distributions all across the world.
Prayer Burdens:
- Please continue to pray for the follow up of all these contacts. We do not want any to be lost.
- Please also pray for the journey ahead and for the supplying of all the local saints to shepherd and care for the students at Stanford and the many contacted In the community so that they can be added to the church.
Jackson, MS/Birmingham, AL—Gospel Trip, Report 14
We thank the Lord for what He has done this past week here in Birmingham, AL! Our time here has come to an end, but we surely know that the Lord will continue moving not only here in this cit, but also throughout the entire earth. This morning we had a conference video-call with the serving ones in Knoxville, Atlanta, Tallahassee, and Gainesville. We spent an hour fellowshipping and praying for the work in each place. We could testify that in this conference call, all of us were being built-up as one team. The fellowship watered us and was a time of mutual encouragement and support through prayer. Praise the Lord that He is moving in all of these places!
For the rest of the afternoon, we spent time fellowshipping and singing, and then rested before the home meeting. In the evening, we were split into two home meetings. Praise the Lord that in one of the home meetings two new students came! We could testify that both students reacted very positively and really enjoyed the time. At the end of the home meeting, the registration to the college conference was announced and one of the new ones expressed interest in joining, even asking more information about the conference. May the Lord continue to gain these open ones!
Thank you so much for all of your prayers. Truly, we could testify that the Lord has been answering them.
Prayer Burdens:
- That the Lord would break through all the barriers, that the new ones will continue to be open to meeting up with the saints (in appointments, Bible studies and home meetings).
- That the Lord will release many students to join the Southeast College Conference this coming March!
- That the Lord will bless our door-hanging tomorrow near the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.
Amarillo/Canyon TX—Gospel Trip Report
Howdy from Amarillo, TX! Amarillo is the largest city in Texas that does not have a local church. There are about 200,000 people in Amarillo, and in the Amarillo-Canyon area there is a community college, Amarillo College, and a four-year university, West Texas A&M, which both have student populations of 10,000. There used to be a church life in Amarillo two decades ago, but those saints have migrated out of the area. There are a few families who are related to the saints in Oklahoma City who are not currently meeting. The Lord has stirred up a burden in the Body to reach out to these saints and to distribute Bibles for America materials in these college campuses.
During four days of labor on the college campuses, the team has had meaningful conversations with at least 250 students, given out 172 New Testament Recovery Version Bibles, handed out 1,355 gospel tracts, handed out 34 ministry books, and prayed with 5 students to receive the Lord. We discovered that many students are open to the Lord and many students are eager to receive a Bible.
We invited the students we contacted to a Bible study presentation on how to use the New Testament Recovery version Wednesday evening. Three new students came to the Bible study. One of these students sought our company since her family has had a history of being with the saints in Burma and has long since been seeking a church life in the Amarillo area. The other two were sisters who enjoyed our company so much that they joined us for dinner at our lodging. They even invited their parents!
A family, who is serving with the Amarillo team, are related to many people in the Amarillo area. Two of these families are fellow believers who positively respond to the ministry. There is also a family who was in the Recovery two decades ago but has left due to migration of saints from the area. We had a sweet time with them at the Wednesday night dinner and fellowship.
Many saints from Oklahoma will join the team this weekend to distribute Bibles and ministry material at the local Walmarts in Amarillo and Canyon, TX. There will also be an invitation along with the distributed gospel tracts to a Bible study presentation Friday night.
Prayer Burdens:
- Pray that the Lord would cause the growth in all of the gospel seeds sown via the gospel tracks and distributed New Testament Bibles.
- That the students we have contacted would come to the Friday Bible Study and that they would all come to know the Lord in a deeper way through His Word.
- That those related to the family would be shepherded by our visitation and would respond positively to the ministry.
- That the Word would run this Friday afternoon, as the saints distribute gospel tracts and free Bibles at the local Walmart Stores.
- That the Lord could gain a testimony in Amarillo, TX
Phoenix, AZ—Gospel Trip, Report 5
Prayer Burdens:
- Students D (male), T (female), E (female) and TA (female) would come to the lunch cookout Saturday with the students and the local saints.
- After the trainees leave, at least 5 of our top 10 “warm” students would remain.
- The core students and families would continue to be shepherded by the Lord in order to rise up in shepherding the new ones.
Activities:
We passed out at least 10,000 flyers total these past two weeks. We had 23 appointments this week alone. 27 total students came to the Thursday and Friday meetings this week.
Highlights:
Our goal last week was mainly to sow indiscriminately. Our goal this week was mainly to have appointments. This week we doubled the amount of appointments from last week.
The corporate gathering this Friday evening testified of the oneness of the local families with the labor on campus.
Vaughan/London, Ontario—Gospel Trip, Report 5
On Lord’s Day, February 3, we arrived in London, Ontario at 5:30 pm to be welcomed by a room full of singing saints. We were overwhelmed by all the joyous expressions radiating from their faces. A number of families from southwestern Ontario also joined us. Afterward the trainees and full-timers gave their testimonies to all the saints. Many of the saints from London and surrounding towns expressed their desire to have saints visit their homes this week.
On Monday morning, we enjoyed listening to the testimonies of some of the first “typical Canadians” to be gained in southern Ontario in the 1970s. We were all very encouraged and inspired to once again consecrate ourselves to the Lord for His up-to-date move. Today, in southern Ontario the Lord is doing the same thing that He did 30 years ago—He is moving in many families in this area from a Mennonite background and gaining them for His recovery.
On Tuesday, we had our first day on campus and door-knocking in the neighborhood of the meeting hall. At Fanshawe College, we met many open and seeking ones. One of them expressed his desire to find a Bible study on campus but was unable to find one. We passed out over 50 tracts and 15 Bibles. We also had two college students pray to receive the Lord! With more emphasis on appointments, the saints had three appointments with the college students. In the neighborhood of the meeting hall, a team of saints went door-knocking in a townhouse complex where they were warmly welcomed by refugee families, predominantly from the Middle East.
On Tuesday evening, about 50 saints gathered for a glorious prayer meeting at the meeting hall in London to pray for GTCA and other prayer requests. Another team of five saints drove to Windsor to join the prayer meeting with the saints there and to visit three students at the University of Windsor.
Prayer Burdens:
- At Western University and Fanshawe, core students and saints to rise up for the creation of a club for the Lord to move on these two campuses.
- Many existing and new contacts to come to the upcoming seminar on Saturday, February 9th to find out the mystery of their human life.
- The college students at Windsor to have continual follow-up from the saints in neighboring localities.
