Pearland/The Woodlands TX—Gospel Trip, Report 4

February 8, 2019

As we end the last day of GTCA Pearland/The Woodlands, we spend our final hours with the saints in their homes. Visiting the saints in their homes has been a wonderful supply and cherishing for both the saints and the trainees. Although it is the last day of the trip, the gospel work still continues in The Woodlands. As a brother put it in the Houston area corporate prayer meeting last night, the trip is just a jump start for the gospel and we must continue to contact new ones by going out and revisiting their homes. This has been the burden for the saints in the Northern Houston area: to enter into a gospel living by visiting their neighbors and thus forming the vital groups.

Coordination
During our morning coordination with the full-timers and local saints, we have been entering into the burden of having group meetings by reading and fellowshipping on the ministry book The Practice of the Group Meetings. Through this fellowship, a desperate need for the practical living for the purpose of fruit-bearing has emerged. This is vital in the upcoming weeks, as the new GTCA contacts are brought into the homes. Please pray that the meetings are released, living and fresh.

Meeting in the Homes
Throughout this week, saints have invited the trainees to their homes. This has been a wonderful time of blending an encouragement to the saints. In the homes, saints shared in a more intimate way their enjoyment and experience of Christ shepherding them along in the church life. A top enjoyment of the saints and trainees was the released prayers in the homes before going out in the gospel.

Door Hanging
In the North Houston area, two hundred door-hangers on average were distributed per day. Distribution occurred Monday, February 4th through Thursday, February 7th. Each door hanger was paired with a rainbow booklet and a friendly note welcoming them to a group meeting in a nearby saint’s home. Often, neighbors warmly received this material. Within the last four days of the distribution, over one thousand homes received BfA door hangers.

Prayer Burdens:

  • Pray for a good response from the material distributed and for revisitations.
  • As the saints enter into the second week of GTCA, pray that the saints are supplied to continue contacting, visiting, and caring for those in their area.
  • Please pray for a smooth transition from a church life of larger meetings to the reality of group meeting in the homes.

Today we had BfA distributions at George Washington University (GWU) in D.C and Silver Spring station in Maryland.

Our distribution at GWU was from noon to 1pm, where 19 Bibles were given out and 11 contacts were given to us. Our distribution at Silver Spring station was from 1pm to 4pm, where 75 English Bibles, 25 Spanish Bibles, 62 English Basic Elements of the Christian Life, 8 Spanish Basic Elements of the Christian Life and 74 tracts were given out. It was really a sweet and encouraging time, especially because more than 10 local saints joined us for these distributions. We praise and thank the Lord for all the seeds that were sown today. We ended the day by joining a home meeting with a family in D.C.

Prayer Burdens:

  • That the Lord would release the proper follow-up and shepherding for all the sign ups from these Bible distributions, and some would be added to the church
  • That the Lord would bless our Bible distribution tomorrow at Dunn Loring metro station from 3pm to 5pm

Following the distribution, we attended the weekly Christians on Campus Bible Study at 4:30PM. More than twenty students attended! During the spring semester the students will be covering the second half of John. In the evening, we attended our last prayer meeting of this gospel trip. May the Lord continue to bring these students week after week to reveal God’s desire and way to have His building.

  • For our BfA distributions tomorrow. Our current plan is to distribute Bibles at George Washington University and Silver Spring station. May the Lord gain remaining fruit through this time.

Jackson, MS/Birmingham, AL—Gospel Trip, Report 13

February 8, 2019

Today the team joined the Bible study at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Praise the Lord for His rich blessing! Around seven students came, some coming for the first time. We had a wonderful time learning that the Bible shows God’s transcendent love for man and that this love has an issue and result. After the Bible study, the sisters had two appointments with new ones. Both appointments were very positive! Then the whole team proceeded to hang door-hangers advertising the radio station, which broadcasts the life-study. May the ministry spread in this city!

Prayer Burdens:

  • That the student contacts, especially those who have met with us in appointments and the Bible study, would keep meeting with the saints and would find a home in the church life.
  • That many student contacts will attend the home meetings tomorrow and be cherished and nourished.
  • That the Lord will bless all the homes where we hung door-hangers, and that many
