St. Louis, MO—Gospel Trip, Report 5

January 31, 2019

Praise the Lord for His work here in St. Louis! As we get further and further into the gospel trip, it becomes more and more apparent to us that the Lord is desperate to gain this city! This past Tuesday, 1/29, we had the neighborhood children’s meeting again and two new families were able to make it to the dinner time afterwards. All of the parents and the children seemed to truly enjoy their time there. As they were leaving, the kids of one of the families asked if they could come again next week. This meeting has proven to be an effective way to bring in new families in the past and we are praying that the Lord will do the same with these families as well.

This morning, 1/30, we had the community meeting. A sister’s husband joined in as well. He is a believer, doesn’t meet with the church in St. Louis and, to some extent, condones his wife’s doing so. However, he does regularly attend the community meeting and oftentimes argues certain points of the ministry with the saints.

This morning though, once her husband left the meeting, she told us that she felt that he was really shepherded. She felt that the spirit during the meeting was too strong and that her husband was subdued. We are praying that he will continue to soften towards the saints!

Prayer Burdens:

  • That the Lord would be our discernment in our last times of follow up with our new contacts. The Lord has granted us around one hundred potential contacts, so it’s important that we determine who are the ones that would be most worth the saints’ time and energy and filter out the ones who are not viable candidates.
  • That the Lord would strengthen the net here.

Pearland/The Woodlands TX—Gospel Trip, Report 2

January 31, 2019

Thank you for keeping us in your prayers. These past few days we have continued blending with the saints in their homes and door-knocking in Pearland with the working saints, full-timers, and young people. There are also many new ones helping in the GTCA trip by preparing lunch as well as opening their homes for hospitality and coordination meetings. It is truly encouraging to see the members coordinating together and functioning for the Lord’s move.

Gospel update:
Two residents opened their doors and welcomed the saints into their homes to have fellowship.

The first was a Spanish-speaking believer from Columbia who was impressed with the translation of the Bible from the original Greek to English. Toward the end of our fellowship, he sensed peace and was open to meeting in a local brother’s home. We plan to revisit him with a Spanish RcV Bible.

The second was a believer who had recently left her church, dissatisfied, and was seeking a church for her family. She received a Bible for herself and asked for an additional one for her son. Also, she asked the saints for a Bible study and a revisitation. Praise the Lord!

Prayer Burdens:

  • Continue praying for the local saints to enter into a daily gospel living.
  • Pray that the University of Houston would be open for us to table on campus.
  • Pray for the new contacts to remain and become more open to all that the Lord would desire to do.

Morgantown, WV—Gospel Trip, Report 2

January 31, 2019

For the past two days, the team labored in West Virginia University. The weather was freezing and we could not get permission to table inside the building, because we have no official club on campus (part of prayer burden), so we had to table outside, taking shifts every 20 minutes. We had a good number of students who stopped to claim a free Bible or even just ask if there are Bible studies on campus. Teams continued to distribute invites while others manned the table. We had a chance to get some contact information; others were in a rush due to the cold.

Highlights:
Yesterday, a professor came to talk to one of the brothers distributing cards and said that he was impressed of what we were doing despite the cold and that he would be willing to sponsor the Christian Club on campus. The sisters talked to a student, which led to a mini Bible study in the campus food court.

Prayer Burdens:
That the willing professor would officially sign the papers as the sponsor of the club on campus. That those who received the invites would make it to the mini BfA conference this weekend. That the Lord would lead His chosen ones to the BfA table in the following campuses: West Virginia University, Fairmont State University and Carnegie Mellon University

Statistics as of January 30 (Day 3) in West Virginia University:

  • 2,162 invitation cards to BfA conference
  • 56 Bibles distributed
  • 37 contacts received
  • 1 called and prayed to receive the Lord

Jackson, MS/Birmingham, AL—Gospel Trip, Report 6

January 31, 2019

As we come to the middle of this first week, we desperately look to the Lord for His strength and supply. Today, we continue labor distribution of door hangers in the neighborhood. It has been an enjoyment going neighborhood by neighborhood petitioning before the Lord about all these ones whom we have left a tract at their door. As we sow, we ask the real Farmer to rain upon those whom He wants to give life by stirring in them a curiosity to listen to the broadcast radio here in Jackson. Also, we have very much enjoyed the blending and coordination with the saints here in Jackson. May our Dear King receive all the glory for what He will do in this city!

Statistics:
We have distributed a little bit over 3,000 door hangers. We have passed close to 1000 New Testament Recovery Version flyers to the locals.

Prayer Burdens:

  • Once again, please keep praying for the upcoming Bible distribution at Walmart.
  • Pray for the reminder of our week here in Jackson, that He will gain what He is after.

Hayward, CA—Gospel Trip, Report 2

The Lord is reaching His hungry seekers on the California State University at East Bay campus! Starting on Monday we had the opportunity to table on the CSUEB campus as Bibles for America, offering free Recovery Bibles to all the students here. We’ve also been endeavoring to start a campus club with Bible studies, and from the initial response in these 2 days so far, there are many students who are hungry for a club and Bible study to fellowship with other believers. One highlight was when someone came up to the table, and was open to read with us some of the footnotes from John 6. When he finished reading the footnotes, his face lit up and he said, “Wow, this is amazing. I’ve never seen anything like this before!”

Stats of Dsitribution:

  • 37 Bibles
  • 40 Basic Elements of the Christian Life
  • 131 gospel tracts
  • Contacted 38 who were open to have a Bible study.
