Palo Alto, CA—Gospel Trip, Report 4
It has been so precious to see how burdened the local saints are. We were also encouraged today by four full-time serving ones from Berkeley joining us for our tabling at Stanford. In two-and-a-half hours, we handed out 263 Bible-study flyers and 19 Bibles, and we received another 25 contacts. A student was even attracted by our singing and sang with us at the table. He then saw his friend and invited him to also sing with us. Praise the Lord! We are truly thankful for what the Lord is doing and will do on this campus. We plan on doing more follow-up in the coming days leading up to the Thursday night Bible study.
Meanwhile, another three groups of saints continued the community gospel work in three different locations in Palo Alto. Over 50 Bibles were passed out with a surprisingly good response from high school students.
Prayer Burdens:
- The Thursday night Bible study is our primary and most substantial point of contact with the Stanford students. Please pray for the Bible study this Thursday, that all the students, especially the newly contacted ones, would hear the Lord’s direct speaking and receive fresh revelation from Him in the Gospel of John.
- The bulk of the Bibles passed out in the community today were to Palo Alto High School students. Please pray for our own young people, that they would be mobilized in response to this openness and be unashamed gospel seeds on their respective campuses.
- There are a number of local saints and a couple of trainees who are sick. Please make mention of the saints and their health, for the sake of the Lord’s move here, in your prayers.
Palo Alto, CA—Gospel Trip, Report 3
We have continued to enjoy praying and coordinating with the saints for our labor on the Stanford campus. On Lord’s Day, the local saints gave us a campus tour of Stanford and told us a little of its history. We enjoyed the tour and were impressed to learn that Stanford Christian Students has been a campus club since 1992. The Lord truly has been faithful to bless His work to gain Stanford.
Today, we had the privilege to finally put our campus knowledge to practice. We joined the club tabling on campus and tabled from around 11am to 2pm. We handed out 229 flyers for the Bible study this coming Thursday and 20 Bibles. Twenty-five students also gave their information for further contact. Simultaneously, another group of local saints continued to table in downtown Palo Alto and also later in the afternoon.
Prayer Burdens:
- Because the typical Stanford student is very future-oriented and academically-occupied, it is difficult to have lengthier conversations. Please pray for the Lord to release the hearts of the students so that we could have meaningful contact with them.
- Pray for the follow-up of the students with the view that many would come to our Bible study this Thursday night.
Morgantown, WV—Gospel Trip, Report 1
Day’s Activities
The team started the day with a coordination meeting at a local brother’s house at 9 AM. We headed to West Virginia University at 10:30 AM. From 10:30 AM to 3 PM, we set up a table to pass out free Bibles at the student union. We also passed out invitations around campus and the campus railway station for the BfA seminar/mini conference this weekend.
Day’s Highlights
From the 1,002 invitation cards we passed out, we had 10 notable, positive conversations and a few other positive interactions.
Prayer Burdens:
- To have a club advisor so that we have a place on campus to have Bible studies
- That many students could come to the mini-conference this weekend
- That the sweeping woman would find the lost coin
Manchester, NH—Gospel Trip, Report 1
Background
Last month, the church in Manchester had their first Lord’s Table on December 16th.
Goal of this trip
To build the Body of Christ through the blending of the saints and the preaching of the gospel to four major groups of people: students, business professionals, pre-existing BfA/community contacts, and the community.
Highlights (January 27-29)
Our goal was to pass out 50 seminar invitations during each one hour workplace distribution, but the Lord exceeded our expectations and 200 invitations were handed out in the past two distributions.
Statistics: (as of January 27)
- Tracts: 11
- Bibles: 5
- Ministry booklets: 2
Prayer Burdens:
- The seminar invitations will continue to reach many more professionals over the next six workplace distributions. There are 10,000, predominately young professionals, working in a ~1 mile strip of renovated mill buildings.
- There will be positive contacts made during tabling at Manchester Community College, Concord Community College, and UMASS Lowell over the next three days.
- Visitations will encourage, supply, and blend the saints and positive contacts in Manchester and its surrounding areas.
Manassas, VA—Gospel Trip, Report 2
Today we had the opportunity to distribute Bibles at the NOVA campus in Manassas. We had a very positive response, handing out 45 Bibles and more than 50 tracts. Many of these 45 gave us their contact information for follow-up and are interested in joining our BfA Connect Seminar on the NOVA campus this Thursday. In the afternoon, we were able to text these contacts and six students have already responded! Our day concluded with a home meeting where our trainee sisters were able to share their testimonies with the saints.
Prayer Burdens:
- For the Lord to release a room and the positive contacts for our BfA connect event this Thursday on the NOVA campus
- For the weather to be conducive for our Bible distribution tomorrow
