Manassas—Gospel Trip, Report 1

January 30, 2019

Greetings from Virginia! We praise the Lord that we are here. Our team arrived in Virginia on Saturday evening, January 26. After dinner with some of the full-timers and local sisters, we were able to meet our hospitality. On Lord’s Day, we joined the saints in Fairfax, VA for the meeting in the morning, followed by lunch with the saints and sightseeing in D.C. We were given a detailed tour of the Georgetown University campus by two students and then had a sweet time with the saints and dinner at a couple’s house nearby. The saints are really burdened for this campus, and although there is no team serving there, we heard their encouraging report from the first student meeting with Georgetown students.

Today was our first day of BfA distribution. We began the day in coordination with the team of six saints, followed by a time of fellowship and preparation for the distribution. During this time, we got to hear the history of the churches and the history of the team in this region. We also began to share our testimonies with the full-timers and got to hear two of theirs.

We will be spending about half of our time on the campuses here and the other half in distributions among the community. We spent two hours at a Virginia Railway Express stop (train station) in Old Town Manassas, where we distributed 20 Bibles! It is very encouraging that some local saints came and joined us during this time. Overall, we had a positive response, especially from one student who attends NOVA (Northern Virginia Community College) in Manassas. We hope to see her this upcoming Thursday at BfA Connect on her campus.

Prayer Burdens:

  • For the 20 Bible recipients to read their Bibles and develop an appetite for the Word
  • That the Lord would cover the weather for our outdoor distributions this week (snow/ice predicted tomorrow and Wednesday)
  • For the Lord to bless our going out on the NOVA campus tomorrow and to bring us many open and hungry students

Today was a day spent with much blending with the Mississippi saints. We spent the day visiting Vicksburg National Military Park and then had a rich fellowship over dinner in the homes. It really touched me that even as we are doing all these outward things, the Lord is in fact building us up together at the same time. We mentioned in a previous update that there were two local sisters who met in the Recovery for the first time last Lord’s Day. Tonight they had dinner with a local couple, and we heard that the time went well. With this in view, we would like to share the following prayer burdens:

  • That these two local sister contacts would continue to be open to meeting with the saints in the recovery and that they would be remaining fruit.
  • That the Lord will continue to blend us and build us up with the local Mississippi saints.
  • That the Lord will bless the gospel activity tomorrow, during which we will be hanging door-hangers advertising the ministry radio station.

Hymn #124, stanza 4:
Hallelujah, Christ the Victor
Triumphed on Mount Calvary!
Hallelujah, resurrected,
He displays His victory!
Hallelujah, now ascended,
He shall reign eternally

The Lord’s Table meeting included testimonies from the Southern California Spanish-speaking Conference this January and the 2018 Memorial Day Weekend Conference, The Spiritual Warfare of the Church as the New Man. That afternoon, both the saints from Fresno and Clovis and the team had a GTCA (Gospelizing, Truthizing, Churchizing America) workshop. The fellowship included these points:

  • Needing to be a person with the spirit of the gospel and having a heart for people
  • Fanning into flame this spirit (2 Timothy 1:6)
  • Opening and allowing the Lord to have a way to flow in us and from us

The fellowship also included material and testimonies on preaching the gospel, having a heart for man, door-knocking, tabling, and follow up.

Clemson, SC—Gospel Trip, Report 2

Today we had a wonderful experience on campus here at Clemson University! We had a club table in the student center for close to three hours as well as having several gospel pairs preaching the gospel and informing students of the club. By the Lord’s mercy we were able to hand out approximately 81 club flyers, 19 tracts, 17 New Testaments, and 15 small ministry books! Also, two students were saved! Praise the Lord! The students here are open and soft towards the gospel and the club and we hope to continue reaping and sowing here at Clemson!

The highlight of the day was definitely having the opportunity to speak to the students about the club, the Bible, and the Lord Himself! Many of the students here are believers and they are also friendly and welcoming, making it an even greater experience!

Prayer Burdens:

  • Pray for the two new ones that were saved and those whom we’ve contacted thus far
  • Pray that the Lord continue to bless the tabling on campus
  • Pray that the Lord would continue to gain the students already in the club

Clemson, SC—Gospel Trip, Report 1

January 30, 2019

Today is our first official day in Clemson, SC, as we first arrived in Charlotte, NC and then drove to Clemson yesterday night where we were able to meet, blend, and coordinate with the core saints who helped organized our time at Clemson. Today, we had a walking tour of Clemson University, where most of our time here will be spent, getting to know some of the history and background as well as some logistical information about the campus and school. During lunch at the dining hall and recreation time afterwards, we were able to talk and spend time with students and invite them to the Bible study and dinner, which we had on campus.

Today’s highlight was definitely the Bible study, where 6 students came, 2 of which were there for the first time; 16 total people! It was an awesome experience being able to get to know these open and welcoming students, and dispense the riches of the name of Jesus, the topic of the Bible study, into them! Many of them enjoyed it and we hope to see most of these students again during our time here!

Prayer Burdens:

  • Pray for the release of the club students’ schedule to join us during this week.
  • Pray for the tabling that will happen throughout the week and that the Lord will continue to draw seeking ones.
