Reports
Burnaby, Canada—Gospel Trip, Report 2
We started our full schedule yesterday with truth pursuit and coordination in the morning. Then we went to the campus at SFU (Simon Fraser University) to hand out gospel meetings invitations and followed by visitations in the homes in the evening. We have three locations within SFU to hand out event flyers and Bibles. So far in the last two days, we have handed out 1787 event invitations and 7 Bibles.
As a correction to our previous report, the burden of the Greater Vancouver churches of visitation is not just to visit dormant saints, but all the saints, stirring up an atmosphere of visitations among all the saints to care for one another. In the visitation training sessions, the fellowship was that visitations can be done in many ways: writing to one another, hospital visits, going to memorial meetings, or wedding meetings, giving rides to the saints, etc. We should also rid our concepts of needing to have a big enough home or to prepare an elaborate meal. The focus of visitation is on the people, going to them to care for them.
Stats report:
- 1787 invitations for the gospel meetings at SFU handed out (January 28-29) with a goal of 3000 invitations distributed
- 7 Bibles handed out
- On Monday, we had 8 visitations total in the homes of the saints.
Prayer Burdens:
- The release of the Word of God, the testimony, singing and the atmosphere of the gospel event titled “I am the Bread of Life” on SFU campus this Thursday noon (January 31)
- More saints would be open to being visited (total of 100 visitations during the GTCA)
Jackson, MS/Birmingham, AL—Gospel Trip, Report 4
We are thankful with the Lord for all of what He has done for us in these past few days. The caring and the shepherding of the saints in Jackson has been wonderful. As the days go by our blending with them gets sweeter and our fellowship richer. We, as always, open ourselves to the Lord so that our capacity will be enlarged to bear in prayer all these wonderful saints.
Our morning was spent by enjoying the Lord with singing, praying and getting into the ministry. The Lord used this time to supply us and energize us for the rest of the busy day ahead. After this time of coordination, we went around several neighborhoods in the cities in the Jackson area, hanging door-hangers that advertise the radio station WIWT 100.1 broadcasting the ministry (life-study messages, hymns, BfA podcasts). We spent around an hour and a half doing this, had lunch together with the saints, and continued hanging door-hangers for three more hours. As the evening started to make its way, we were invited to various homes where we spent the rest of our night with the local saints. As a result of this blending over dinner, these families have been written in our heart.
We thank our dear Lord Jesus for today!
Prayer Burdens:
- That the Lord will shepherd, grow in, preserve, and sanctify all the local saints and families in Jackson for His purpose, and that they would take the Lord’s transcending life to meet any situation.
- That the Lord will bless each home where we hanged a door-hanger, and that the occupants of these homes would tune in to the radio station broadcasting the ministry.
Vaughan/London, Ontario—Gospel Trip, Report 1
As a prelude to our GTCA in Vaughan and London, the team visited the church in Toronto. The sisters went to uptown Toronto and the brothers downtown Toronto to a Friday night meeting. At the meeting, there were numerous college students from the University of Toronto and York University.
Prayer Burdens:
- The Lord may continue to gain and dispense Himself into the college students in Toronto.
- That the Lord may cover the entire team during this trip; the weather is a lot colder than expected
- The Lord may open up suitable venues in Vaughan and London for all the saints to contact seekers, and to distribute the Bible so that the truth in the Word may be released to the sons of peace.
St. Louis, MO—Gospel Trip, Report 3
Friday, 1/25/19, we went to the University of Washington at Saint Louis (Wash U), the flagship university of Saint Louis, for a Bible distribution. We were there for a little over two hours and handed out close to 40 Bibles and had a number of positive contacts. The evening was filled with three meetings:
- A Korean-speaking meeting with community saints
- The campus meeting, which had 16 attendees (9 of whom were students). Three students were new to the meeting and the time was very positive; every student dug into the riches of the Word and prophesied, and many signed up for a weeklong morning revival program.
- A brand-new meeting was created for the new students we contacted at UMSL the day before. The meeting was hosted in a local sister’s home, and four new, unsaved students came. The meeting was unlike anything we had experienced- it was truly a joint effort of shepherding and preaching the gospel, even some saints who previously had not been too involved in the campus labor spontaneously jumped in. At least one was definitely saved and desires to come back for more.
Saturday, 1/26/19, we had lunch with a local sister and went to various meetings in the evening, being split up into different groups.
All in all, our first week has been a week of very positive blending, mutual shepherding, and sowing, and we look to the Lord that some of the ones we contacted this week would be thoroughly connected to the local saints and would receive the proper follow-up during our second week.
Prayer Burdens:
- That the Lord would operate in these positive contacts, keeping at least five as remaining, fruit-bearing fruit
- That the Lord would revive, reinspire, and bring into function the backslidden and dormant local saints
- That the Lord would continue to blend and build us together with the saints here in beautiful mutual harmony and fellowship in love.
Hayward, CA—Gospel Trip, Report 1
Day’s highlight: The first day of the gospel trip in Hayward was so enjoyable, we started by knocking on hundreds of doors in the morning and giving out many Bibles at local train stations/malls in the afternoon. It was so sweet to contact and pray with people! There were many seeking believers who were excited to receive a study Bible, even asking for a Bible study, additional literature, and for us to contact them. One of our teams contacted a homeless man and prayed with him to receive the Lord Jesus. He received two Bibles, one for himself and the other for his friend.
After all the gospel activities, we blended with the local YP from Fremont and Union City at a combined meeting during the night. We gave our testimony of how the Lord brought us to the FTTA and shared about the concepts we had regarding the training, and how the Lord was able to break through these concepts to enlarge our experience of Him.
Day’s Activity:
- 1/26 morning: 2 hours door-knocking with local saints in Hayward.
- 1/26 afternoon: 2 hours tabling at BART Stations and supermarkets.
