Reno, NV—Gospel Trip, Report 4
We went out door-knocking with the local saints and tabling both on the UC Davis campus with students and the local farmers market since Monday. We handed out 5 to 6 Bibles per day and flyers for a Bible seminar event happening tonight. We also joined the full-time team here and got to spend time with the students in their student activities.
One new student contact came to the BfA table and received a Bible this past week. He was then followed up by a student involved on the Christians on Campus club and has been coming to the meetings on a regular basis. Pray for many more seeking students!
Prayer Burdens:
- Pray for tonight’s, Wednesday Feb. 7, Bible seminar to be filled with seeking students and people from the community. Pray for the proper follow up with the seeking contacts at the event.
- Pray for the Spirit of the Gospel to continue to burn in the saints in Davis. Pray that these weeks would not just be a gospel event but that the saints would continue to have a gospel living and prayer life.
- Pray that the students in UC Davis would rise up to take care of the new student contacts.

Days’ Activities
This past Monday, we started focusing on follow-up! The team met at our hub in the morning to touch the Lord and then we headed to campus to see if we could meet with any of the contacts for appointments and Bible studies. We also had one trainee go with a sister to visit a mother and her son. For dinner we blended with the saints in the homes.
On Tuesday, we continued with the follow-up, splitting into two teams to meet with students from University of Ottawa and Carleton. In the evening, we gathered at Carleton Heights Community Centre for dinner and the prayer meeting! We prayed for the follow-up, the upcoming Bible studies, the local saints and students, as well as the purchase of the meeting hall and the upcoming International Chinese speaking conference.
Highlights:
- At one home visit to see a sister who has not met in a while, the trainee and visiting saint were encouraged by the family’s 8 year old son. The mom said that every Lord’s Day her son asks if they are going to the Lord’s Table. At the end of the visit, the mom asked her son if they should go to the Lord’s Table this week! Pray that the Lord would usher this family back into the church life.
- The total amount of Bibles distributed so far is ~553 Bibles!
Prayer Burdens:
- The purchase of a meeting hall in Ottawa. That through this process the Lord would gain the genuine oneness among the saints.
- The Lord would release follow-up of many contacts on the following three campuses: University of Ottawa, Carleton, and Algonquin College.
- The Lord would bountifully supply the local saints to labour in one accord with Him.
Orlando, FL—Gospel Trip, Report 5
We were really encouraged to testify the oneness of the Body even when we are functioning in different ways.
One trainee with a local sister had two appointments at Valencia College. During the first appointment, the student met with one trainee and one local sister. It was the first time that this local sister met a student for a one-on-one Bible study. She was so watered that she even said, “My dream came true!” She shared with us her burden for the students. She’s been wanting to go and labor on the campuses, but she did not know how. Now she is looking forward to follow up with the student.
Some of us in the team, including local saints, focused on the following-up of over 100 students contacted in the BfA table on all four campuses (Valencia East, Valencia south, Seminole and University of Central Florida). In our endeavors, we were able to schedule two more appointments for this week. May the Lord continue to gain His sons of peace in these campuses!
Meanwhile, four local brothers went to Valencia East College for Bible distribution. Among the local saints, there were also two brothers who came to join us from out of town. A total of 19 students received a Bible.
We ended our day blending and having sweet fellowship with local saints at a home meeting. Praise the Lord! He is moving in the church in Orlando. The saints are entering into the burden and actively functioning.
Prayer burdens:
- That the students contacted would attend to the meeting on Thursday
- That more saints would be burdened for the gospel
- That the fellowship and coordination time would be for the building up of the body in one accord
- That all the students contacted who received a Bible would open it and be supplied through the word
Morgan Hill/Monterey, CA—Gospel Trip, Report 7
Today, we spent our last day in Monterey tabling at Cal State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB), handing out 40 Bibles and receiving 18 students’ contact information. One male freshman we contacted today was very interested to see in the footnotes for John 10:10 that the Lord Jesus came to give not the bios life nor the psyche life, but the zoe life and the zoe life abundantly; he now is looking forward to know more by coming to our on-campus Bible study.
Overall, we had a sense that many of the students are open and seeking, especially the freshmen; however, the saints expressed an urgent need for more saints who are burdened to labor on campus and shepherd students.
Tonight we ended our time in Monterey with dinner and sweet fellowship. We will continue laboring with the campus work at Gavilan College and with the children’s work in Morgan Hill tomorrow.
Prayer Burdens:
- For there to be at least two remaining fruit at CSUMB.
- For the Lord to raise up more saints burdened for the campus work in Monterey.
Morgan Hill/Monterey, CA—Gospel Trip, Report 6
Currently in Monterey, there are mainly three families meeting in the homes, along with some other saints; the number fluctuates year by year as many come and go by way of military service or grad school. The saints coordinate together with the church in Salinas (about 20 mins. away) and blend much with all the churches in the central coast region. The saints have distributed many times and hold weekly Bible studies at Cal State Monterey Bay (CSUMB), however, there still isn’t a club nor a core on the campus.
Today, we set up a table at CSUMB and distributed 33 Bibles and 28 students gave us their contact information. We have been following-up with them by inviting them to a welcome dinner tomorrow (Tuesday) night. There were some students very excited to hear about Bible studies on campus, as well as a few clusters of twos and threes that look forward to coming together.
Tomorrow, we will table again at CSUMB, and then, after our welcome dinner, will return to Morgan Hill for the remainder of the trip.
Please pray:
- That the Lord would draw the seeking ones to our table and bring them to our Tuesday night gathering and Wednesday Bible study;
- For remaining fruit at CSUMB that could become core students for a club on campus;
- For the saints in Monterey and their continued labor on the campus.
