Lethbridge/Calgary, AB—Gospel Trip, Report 3

February 3, 2018

In the morning we had a coordination meeting with the saints. After enjoying some verses and some strong prayer, we went to the University of Lethbridge for a Bible distribution. We gave out 28 Bibles, as well as some ministry books and tracts. Because of the University’s policy, we are not allowed to approach the students, but rather let them come to us. This made distributing a little difficult, but it also meant that the ones that came to the table were quite open and genuinely interested. We were there from 10am until 4:30pm. After dinner we all went to the prayer meeting.

Highlight:

  • Distributing Bibles with the saints and students at University of Lethbridge, praying with the saints.

Prayer Burdens:

  • That many of the Bible recipients would want further contact and that they would be open and available to come to a church event on Friday evening (February 2nd).

Hamilton/St. Catherines, ON—Gospel Trip, Report 2

February 3, 2018

Yesterday, we spent the majority of the day at McMaster University distributing Bibles in the student center. At the end of the day, we distributed a total of 54 Bibles. We were able to have many conversations with the seeking ones that approached our table. We felt that our time at McMaster University was really covered by prayer because of the strong, positive response from the students. Of the ones we contacted, two of them were able to attend a love feast that we held at the home of one of the saints nearby the campus. The burden of this time was to get these new students connected with the local students and saints. The evening was filled with singing and overflow of enjoyment from the students.

Today, though no Bible distribution took place, we had the opportunity to follow up on some of the key contacts that we met from Mohawk College and McMaster University. We were able to meet up with a good number of students for second and even third appointments. Some of the ones we met today were able to come to a small group gathering in Hamilton. During the time, we had a time of sweet fellowship in mutuality with many of us testifying of how the church life is truly our home. May the Lord gain what He is after in these two campuses!

Prayer Burdens:

  • Please pray that the proper shepherding and care would be rendered to these new student contacts.
  • Please pray that the Lord would be able to gain key students within Mohawk College and McMaster University so that He could have a beachhead on these campuses.
  • Please pray that the Lord would thrust out some to migrate to Hamilton, particularly younger couples and families, to meet the need of taking care of the new college students.

Today (Saturday) we will have our cookout and some perfecting with church kids before the cookout, to help them learn how to contact people and welcome them.

Prayer burdens:

  • For the church kids cooperation with the campus work to get a burden and a vision of the Lord’s desire with this campus
  • For some full-timers to be burdened to migrate to El Paso to continue what the Lord has started in UTEP and shepherd the church kids
  • For one on one appointments to be released with the new ones
  • For the new ones to continue reading the gospel of John and sharing their enjoyment in the groups formed

Clovis/Merced/Madera, CA—Gospel Trip, Report 4

February 3, 2018

The saints gathered at the meeting hall in Fresno in the morning for a time of prayer and coordination. Later, the saints were divided up into 4 groups. Two groups went to Clovis for door-knocking, one group went to Walmart for tabling and the last group went to Fresno City College for tabling.

The door-knocking was a blessing to the saints who participated. Everyone is enlivened and full of joy. 126 doors were knocked, and 35 answered and at least received a tract. In total, we passed out 9 Bibles.

At Fresno City College, the students were opened and 9 Bibles was handed out. Among the students we contacted, one experience was particularly encouraging. A student who came to the table was filled with joy after he saw the Recovery Version with footnotes. After being explained to how precious the footnotes are, this student who received the Bible is so full of joy that he asked the brother standing at the table if he can hug him. Altogether, three contacts were gained today at Fresno City College.

Prayer Burden:

  • Pray for the door-knocking and tabling at Walmart tomorrow at Madera.
  • Pray for the follow-up with the students in Fresno City College and Fresno State University.
  • Pray for the follow-up of the ones who received a Bible in Merced.
  • Pray for the health of the team.

South Bend, IN—Gospel Trip, Report 2

February 2, 2018

At IUSB there was an appointment with a young student we met through the Bibles for America table. Although he was shy, he listened to us intently as we shared on why we’re here as Christians; namely, to express and represent our Christ on the earth! He responded positively to having another appointment with a local brother.

At Notre Dame, we met a very open student who received a Bible. He had never heard before that man was created with a human spirit, and was amazed that no one had ever told him. He even mentioned that his mom was telling him recently that he needs to get a Bible! He said that our being there was God’s answer to that plea.

Through the shepherding of one of the local sisters, there was a baptism the first night in a saint’s home. She is a student at Notre Dame, which has three graduate students and one undergraduate already there. May the Lord shepherd this one through the saints!

Friday the 2nd was our rest day, so we stopped by Menno-Hof, a Amish-Mennonite museum and Essenhaus, an Amish restaurant in Indiana. It was so amazing to see history of these believers and to understand the local history in order to better care for local ones in Indiana and the Midwest. Tonight is our Bible Seminar in South Bend! May the Lord bring His seeking ones to be fed in the truth of His word.

Statistics:

  • Bibles: 117
  • Tracts: 300
  • Contacted: 48
  • Salvations: 2
  • Baptisms: 1 (on 1/30)
  • Follow-up Appointment: 2

Prayer Burdens:

  • The Lord’s brooding in South Bend for the sons of peace in our door-knocking time on Saturday.
  • The Father’s loving and forgiving heart, and the seeking and shepherding spirit of our Savior Christ for the saints’ shepherding and follow up of all students contacted this week on campus and at the Bible Seminar.
