Manassas, VA—Gospel Trip, Report 1

January 29, 2018

Thank you for all your prayers. We arrived at our gospel trip destination early Friday afternoon. In the later afternoon we were able to prepare 500 Bibles to be distributed during our time here.

On Saturday, a team of six trainees (four sisters and two brothers) and also local saints, went to two destinations to pass out literature and free Bibles. The distribution venues were in the community at grocery stores as well as at a metro station. We were able to contact people and hand out a New Testament Recovery Version upon receiving contact information. Even a few that were contacted asked to be contacted further. We distributed 29 English Bibles, 8 Spanish Bibles

We also as a team joined the Young People’s meeting, in which many young people from the surrounding localities attended. As a team we shared a bit of our testimony of how we got to the training and our experience in the training with the young people, which we feel was a real highlight of the day. Many saints and college students attended, as well. It was really a sweet time of blending and an introduction to the saints here in Virginia, as well as Maryland.

Today, we met with the saints in Fairfax, Virginia for the Lord’s Table meeting. In the afternoon we had a sweet time of blending, fellowship and coordination with students and the full-timers serving at George Mason University for the upcoming events this week.

Prayer Burdens:

  • Please pray that the saints would continue to be strengthened and encouraged and burdened to be involved in the gospel outreach.
  • Please pray that the distribution venues that we are scheduled to table at would work out and that the Lord would have a way to reach the community.
  • That we would be blent together with the local saints and built up together in our time here.

Lawrence, KS—Gospel Trip, Report 2

January 29, 2018

Yesterday, we attended the Lord’s Table meeting in a home in Lawrence that was small, but very sweet. Afterwards, we stayed for lunch and continued fellowshipping with one another. In the afternoon, we went on the University of Kansas campus to preach the gospel. After passing out 56 tracts and four Bibles and contacting seven people, we had dinner with several regular contacts and one new gospel contact, another Brazilian Christian.

Today, we returned to the university campus after a time of fellowship and coordination in the morning. In total, we passed out 90 tracts and seven Bibles and contacted 11 people today, inviting many to join us for dinner. Ultimately, seven regular contacts joined us for dinner and we had a lot of sweet fellowship with one another.

One of our highlights was the dinner last night. We were so encouraged to see so many familiar faces and one new face. After an enjoyable time of singing and mutual fellowship, we proposed ending the time by going around the room and praying at least one sentence each, and each person did pray. We were also encouraged by the three Brazilian Christians who said that they knew at least 10 other Brazilians who they could invite to join us.

Prayer burdens:

  • Pray for the home meeting this coming Friday. Pray that the three Brazilians would bring their friends.
  • Pray for all those who received tracts and/or Bibles, that they would read them.
  • Pray for three of our regular contacts (two brothers and one sister) to short-term in the FTTA.

This is our last day in Lawrence. Tomorrow, we will be driving to Lubbock, Texas, stopping by Wichita, Kansas and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to blend with the saints.

Laredo, TX—Gospel Trip, Report 2

January 29, 2018

Thank you all for praying for us. We’ve had a great four days of labor and blending here. We’ve met many open students and the Lord has surely poured out His blessing on this campus. The main burden of the saints in Laredo is for increase, and the Lord has been leading us in meeting many open students.

Thus far, we have passed out approximately 3,000 Bible study invitation tracts, 179 students have signed up to attend this past Wednesday and Thursday sessions, and 59 new students have attended these sessions. We had 38 come the first time, and 21 new ones come the second time. Also, two sisters joined us from Austin on Wednesday (one of them was sick and couldn’t be with us the first few days). Their coming we feel was sovereign of the Lord because we needed more females due to high response from females on campus.

During the first session, we covered the purpose of God’s creation of man, and all attendees prayed with us to receive the Lord. So far, we’ve had close to 44 students receive the Lord, and we’re expecting a baptism of one student soon.

We’ll spend tomorrow blending with the saints, and Lord’s Day have arranged a cookout gathering of all very open and close contacts we’ve met to join this time at a local park, in view of connecting them with the local saints.

We’ll spend the next week continuing to pass out Bible study invitation tracts for Wednesday and Thursday, meeting new students, and blending with the saints.

May the Lord’s will be done on the A&M campus.

Please continue to stand with us:

  • The Lord will bless the time of gathering and blending of all the students during this Lord’s Day park cookout with the local saints.
  • The Lord will continue to lead us to all the sons of peace on campus next week.
  • The Lord will preserve and cause the very open contacts we’ve met so far to continue meeting with us next week.
  • The Lord will strengthen the student’s will and cooperation with the Lord for his baptism this Saturday.

Kitchener, Ontario—Gospel Trip, Report 1

January 29, 2018

The Kitchener-Waterloo and Guelph team arrived to Toronto on Friday, January 26, and have been blending and getting oriented for the GTCA here with two other teams for the weekend.

On Lord’s Day, January 28, we had the table meeting in Toronto and departed for Kitchener afterwards. That evening we attended a love feast where we were able to blend and familiarize ourselves with the history of the Church in Kitchener.

On Monday, January 29, we had a GTCA orientation that extended into the history of the churches in the area. We also went on a drive-through campus tour of the University of Waterloo and Wilfred Laurier University, followed by a quick look at the meeting place and property that was recently acquired. The team here consists of five trainees, two serving ones from different localities in Canada, and two local saints.

Although we stayed in most of the day, our highlight was beginning the day with strong prayer, learning about the rich history of the area, particularly the history of the saints with a Mennonite background, and sharing our past experiences out on the gospel.

Please pray for:

  • The Bible distribution this week on the campuses: Wilford Laurier University, the University of Waterloo, University of Guelph, and Conestoga College.
  • The distribution and contact goals for this GTCA in Kitchener to be met, such as: 1) 2,400 tracts 2) 600 Bibles 3) 1,000 initial contacts 4) 25 unbelievers saved
  • This will be our first time having a table on the University of Guelph campus so we are requesting prayers for a positive atmosphere and that we will leave a good impression with the university.

Everett, WA/West Richland, WA—Gospel Trip, Report 4

January 29, 2018

Today we had our first Bible distribution with a BfA table at Everett Community College. Before we went out, we had some time of prayer and coordination with the local saints. Then, we set up the BfA table in front of the Student Union and handed out Bibles to the students who were walking by. We were all really surprised at the openness of the students, and we had some healthy conversations about the Lord with several genuine seekers of the Lord.

Statistics from today at Everett Community College:

  • 17 Bible/Basic Elements booklets handed out
  • 2 Tracts passed out
  • 17 were contacted, given that the conversation lasted more than 30 seconds
  • 8 signed up for further contacts!

Later in the evening, we had a little bit of truth pursuit and fellowship. Afterwards, some saints from Mukilteo, a small suburb in Seattle, came to join us at the house we are staying in. There were over 10 saints and one college student and the time was a real encouragement to us all. The saints blended with us, and prayed for us. One of the saints felt this time was a real breakthrough in regards to blending. Another brother, a student at Everett Community College, said that he had been praying for the campus work at his college, and feels like the Lord has answered his prayers through sending us. Praise the Lord!

Prayer burdens:

  • Pray for the Bible recipients, that they would open the Recovery Version Bible and read it!
  • Pray for the follow-up the rest of the week with the students we contacted today.
  • Pray that the saints in Everett and Mukilteo would have more opportunities to be blended together.
