Reports
Chico, CA— Gospel Trip, Days 12-14
Activities:
- On Tuesday, February 7, 2017, we focused on contacting the names that we already have to set up appointments.
- On Wednesday, February 8, 2017, some of us went out for appointments with the new contacts. Others went out to set up a Bible distribution table on the campus despite the apparent bad weather. The Lord blessed us with many hungry ones; we distributed about 20 Bibles.
- On Thursday, February 9, 2017, we contacted the new contacts to remind them of the coming seminar and to meet up with some of them.
Highlights:
- One of our new contacts has been joining us for dinner and fellowship.
- Yesterday a group of sisters visited a family from our door-knocking contact to deliver Bibles (the mother said that they have been wanting Bibles for a long time, but they could not afford it). The saints stayed to fellowship for about an hour.
Prayer Burdens
- Many will come to the seminar tomorrow
- The Lord will continue to release appointments with our new contacts
- The Lord will put some name in our hearts and that we would care for these ones even after the gospel trip
Valdosta, GA—Gospel Trip, Days 3-6
It is not easy to put into words how the Lord is blessing His work here at Valdosta State University. Over the past three days, around 800 Bibles were passed out to students on campus. Though the majority were Christians and already had their own Bibles, they were still open to receive the Bibles we distributed. Also, many of these students have heard the gospel before and are solid in the truth. Yet they are hungry for more.
Although there is no club on campus, we got the opportunity to establish second appointments with several students. By the Lord’s moving, two students whom we met this week got baptized at the same time. The story behind this proves that it was of the Lord. In addition, a contact whom we met for the second time is open to joining a Bible school program in the near future and inquired about the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (knowing we go to school there). We pray that the Lord eventually will lead this new contact to the training!
The saints who are on the ground can testify that the wheel is moving in Valdosta. May the Lord as the Sovereign One arrange the environment to gain His lampstand in Valdosta.
Prayer Burdens:
- That the Lord will raise up at least one family with a home in Valdosta to care for the hungry seekers in the area
- May there be a strong follow-up of all the students contacted on the university
Morgan Hill and Gilroy, CA—Gospel Trip, Days 9 -11
The Lord really blessed our time in San Luis Obispo. We had a privilege to spend time with the saints there and touch the reality of the normal church life. Monday morning we were enjoying and praising the Lord together. Then we went to Cal Poly to have time with the local students. In the evening, we had a time to share our experience in the training with the saints to encourage especially the students to consider before the Lord concerning the possibility to go to the training after college. We believe that the Lord is really doing something in Cal Poly and He wants to gain many building materials for His building.
Enjoyment:
Our present enjoyment is blending. No matter where we go, we are in the Body. To see and taste the burning spirits of the saints in San Luis Obispo really touched our hearts, and they were truly inscribed in our hearts.
Furthermore, we believed this trip was really crucial for our team. Through this trip, we believe that we got to know each other a little bit more, and we are being built up a little more each day as we spend much time in prayer and coordination.
Gospel Activities:
Today, we have arrived to San Jose and joined a prayer meeting here. Tomorrow we will be joining the coordination with the team in San Jose. Then we will head back to Morgan Hill to conclude the gospel trip. The remaining days we will be mainly just to have follow-up and connecting the saints with the new contacts.
Prayer Burdens:
- Pray that the Lord will open a way to have a team in Cal Poly
- Pray that the Lord will bless the follow up of the warm contacts in Morgan Hill and Gilroy
- Pray the Lord will put the new contacts in the hearts of the local saints so they will have the burden to take care of the contacts
- Pray that everything we do will be in a view of God’s Economy, to satisfy His heart and bring Him Back

Medford, OR and Yakima, WA—Gospel Trip, Days 9-10
There is a high and awesome wheel in Yakima!
On Monday, we went to Yakima Valley Community College (YVCC) to set up the BfA table and hand out the Bible. Although we were not allowed to approach the students outside the table, many students were drawn to come to our table through our singing. Many open students talked with us at the table, and we shared our favorite verses with footnotes with them. We also invited them to our gospel meeting that will happen this Saturday in Yakima. We passed out 22 Bibles and got 12 positive contacts information.
On Tuesday, we invited one of the contacts we met in YVCC to have lunch with us. The local saints in Yakima jumped in to speak with her, and we had some good fellowship with her. Then, in the afternoon, few of us went to visit a couple in the area. Due to the language barrier, the local saints didn’t have the way to shepherd this couple. This couple runs a restaurant and has not been able to meet because of their busy schedule. By the end of our visitation, the whole family including their kid and grandparents were so warmed up by us. The wife invited us to come for another appointment this coming Saturday morning. The Lord did so much upon them through our short visit.
Immediately after that, we drove one and a half hour to the nearby locality, West Richland. Some saints from Yakima and Prosser joined us for this time. We had a wonderful fellowship time with local saints. After the love feast, we sang some songs, and all the trainees shared their testimonies of coming to the training. There are about three college students in Prosser area that have a desire to come to the training. The Lord’s presence and glory filled our meeting room as we enjoyed the Lord with the saints!
Statistics:
- Bible Order Cards: 3
- Bibles: 22
- Basic Elements of the Christian Life, vol. 1:19
Prayer Burdens:
- Please pray that these college students in the Prosser area will continue to pursue the Lord and come to the training after they graduate.
- Please pray for all the students in YVCC who received the Bible and for an adequate follow-up of the contacts.
Ottawa, ON and Laval, QC—Gospel Trip, Day 11
We wanted to send a short update of the gospel work in Laval. Today was the first day of Bible distribution. We are distributing Bibles at 4 metro stations: Cartier, De La Concorde, Montmorency, and Henri-Bourassa. Because we are in the French-speaking portion of Canada and we are passing out Bibles at metro stations instead of universities, the Bible distribution has been a little more difficult. We feel that we need the prayers of the saints to remove the barriers between us and the people of Laval.
In our prayer meeting tonight, we realized that this week is a fresh start and we need to forget the things which are behind. This includes both our successes and our failures. We also realized that we should not depend on our methods but we should trust in the Lord and exercise our spirit.
I would like to share an encouraging story with you. At one of the metro stations, we had an encounter with one of the metro staff, who forced us to move to a different location in the metro station. Initially, we were rattled and timid after the encounter. However, as we turned to our spirit and enjoyed the Lord, we were strengthened again to distribute tracts and ask commuters if they would like a free study Bible. Despite the difficulties, we were still able to pass out a good number of French Bibles. This reminded me of Acts 14:19-20, “But Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there; and having persuaded the crowds, they stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, supposing that he was dead. But as the disciples surrounded him, he rose up and entered into the city. And on the next day he went out with Barnabas to Derbe.” Hallelujah for the resurrection life!
Prayer Burdens:
- The Lord would remove any barrier between us and the citizens of Laval, specifically the language and the cultural barriers
- The Lord would supply the team with sufficient grace and build us up together
- The Lord would sanctify the atmosphere at these four metro stations. There are also Jehovah Witnesses tabling at many of these stations.
