London/ Guelph, ON—Gospel Trip, Report 4
On Saturday, the team had a time of overflow with the saints in London, before leaving for Guelph. During this past week in London, the Lord has surely blessed us. While preaching the gospel and bearing fruit is surely a long-term labor, the Lord has done superabundantly above all that we can ask or think. The Lord was able to reach many families in the Dresden and Alymer area, students on the campus through our going out on the gospel and even follow-up appointments, and those locally in the community. Perhaps, above all, the team in its outreach in London saw a little more of the building up of the Body of Christ.
Our statistics for this week are as follows:
- Tracts: 1021
- Bibles: 90
- Contacted: 225
- Prayed: 26
- Second appointment: 12
- Visited: 3
Please continue to pray for the Lord’s move in Southern Ontario, particularly this week at the University of Guelph. Although we will spend several days tabling on the campus, we hope to return, both to Aylmer and to London, for follow-up appointments with the seeking ones.
Prayer Burdens:
- For the Lord to continue strengthening and supplying all the saints involved in GTCA.
- For the Lord to bring the sons of peace to the table and for the saints to contact them with the humanity of Jesus.
- For the Lord to cover all the seeking contacts, that there would be follow-up with them this week, and that each one would be connected to a local shepherd.
Lexington, KY—Gospel Trip, Report 5
Saturday, February 1
Some of us joined a brunch and blending time for all the sisters in the church in Lexington. In the afternoon, we joined the saints for some afternoon activities. We joined the local saints for three hours to distribute Bibles at a local Walmart in Lexington. We met some dear believers there and had fellowship and mutual shepherding with one another. We also had a blending time activity afterwards, going bowling with the team and the saints in Lexington. Later, we had an awesome time at the young people’s meeting. We ate dinner, sang hymns and had fellowship with the young people. It was refreshing to be with the saints, especially the children and young people, throughout the day. It was a blessing to be with one another and see one another in and out of the meetings.
Lord’s Day, February 2
We had a wonderful time enjoying the Lord and worshipping Him with the saints during the Lord’s table meeting on the University of Kentucky (UK) campus. We enjoyed that the Lord has created the one new man on the cross through His death and He is bringing forth the one new man as we are living in our spirit and our minds are being renewed. We then had a sweet time of blending by eating lunch with the local saints. Some of us took a walk together in a nearby arboretum afterwards and enjoyed one another’s presence and fellowship. We also spent time together with the team to share more testimonies with one another and to coordinate for the upcoming week. Our main burden this week is to meet up with the students that we contacted, establish a relationship with them, and connect them with the local saints. Afterwards, we ate dinner and spent more time blending together with the saints, as well as resting for the upcoming week.
Being with the local saints has been so sweet, cherishing, and supplying to all of us trainees. Praise the Lord for the church life!
Statistics (Walmart distribution):
- Bibles distributed: 15
- Basic Elements of the Christian Life distributed: ~12
Prayer Burdens:
- Pray that the Lord would release all the appointments with the seeking students this week and connect them with the local saints so that they can be remaining fruits.
- Pray for the Lord to preserve the hearts of the children and the young people in Lexington.
- Pray that the Lord would continue to cover and strengthen the health of all the trainees, full-time serving ones and the local saints.
Lexington, KY—Gospel Trip, Report 4
Thursday, January 30
We made posters and flyers for the Bible study in the University of Kentucky (UK) to display and to hand out. We also continued to hand out Bibles and ministry literature to students and faculty that came up to our table on UK. One of our highlights were appointments we had with two students we met on campus. One contact was very excited to meet Christians on Campus and felt like we were an answer to his prayers. Both students were open to share their personal testimonies and would like to have further contact with us. We also had another Bible study on campus. Three of our contacts came and joined us in our Bible study of John 1. Later, we invited two of the students to join us for dinner at the home of some local saints. We had a lovely time of singing hymns and sharing testimonies with one another. We are very encouraged for these students to enter in and connect with the church life here in Lexington.
We strongly feel that these ones are chosen vessels for the Lord. May He gain these students and continue to bring the seeking ones!
Friday, January 31
We had two locations in UK to table and distribute Bibles and ministry literature. Despite slow traffic and inclement weather, we still had many meaningful conversations with students and faculty/staff. After our time on campus, we had some rest before joining the local saints for the home/small group meetings. We really enjoyed singing, blending and sweet fellowship with one another.
Praise the Lord for His blessing! May the Lord continue to gain remaining fruit and bless the saints in Lexington!
Statistics (for the two days):
- Bibles distributed: 59
- Tracts/Ministry literature distributed: ~25
- Contacted: ~40
- Appointments: 2
Prayer Burdens:
- Pray that the Lord will gain the students of UK, especially those we had further contact with, as remaining fruit and that they would be connected to the saints here.
- Pray for the Lord would establish a steady Bible study on campus for God’s Word to be released in UK.
- Pray for the Lord would continue to cover the health of our team in Lexington.
Orlando, FL—Gospel Trip, Report 6
Saturday (2/1/20)
The church in Orlando had a barbecue at Turkey Lake with two new ones and six from the church in Fort Lauderdale. There were around 70 people at this gathering. The trainees enjoyed spending time with the local saints and visiting ones, and played games, played ultimate frisbee, and enjoyed barbecue. The weather was cold and cloudy, but the saints were able to enjoy this time of fellowship and fun.
Prayer Burdens:
- For the continued labor on the young people and for their growth in life.
- Rest for the local saints who served during the week with Bibles for America, who spent hours planning, cooking, driving, and tabling.
Pittsburgh, PA/ Morgantown, WV—Gospel Trip, Report 3
29-30 January 2020
Our statistics over the last two days:
Tracts: 1,671
Bibles: 119
Contacted: 102
Prayed to receive the Lord: 1
Second Appointments: 2
On Wednesday evening, the trainees, host families, and some students from CMU all went to a brother’s home to make dumplings. There was wonderful conversation and much blending as each one was learning to fold dumplings, causing the team to really function together in order to get 500 dumplings made and cooked in one hour.
On Thursday the CMU team had two appointments with students previously in contact with the saints in Pittsburgh to strengthen and further establish them with the club. Both times went well and the teams are hoping to see the contacts at the Friday Bible study and Saturday Bible seminar. That evening the trainees were split up for dinner to blend with more local saints; with the brothers going with their hosting families to a sister’s restaurant and the sisters being paired up to go to two sisters’ homes. Through this split the trainees got to know each saint in a more personal way and enjoyed praying together for each one’s going on.
Please pray for the following matters:
- Pray for the Lord to release students that are available for second appointments, Bible studies, and/or the Bible seminar on Saturday.
- Pray for the health of the team.
- Pray that the two students, whom we had appointments with, would make it to the upcoming events and would be more established in the church.
