Mississauga, ON—Gospel Trip, Days 10-12

February 3, 2016

On Monday, the trainees and the local saints took a trip down to Niagara Falls. We got to see one of the world’s largest waterfalls; we even got to tour behind the falls! That evening, there was a blending time with the saints from St. Catherines, Ontario Canada. We were able to share our enjoyment from the past week’s GTCA activities. Tuesday and Wednesday, we continued to table at UTM, but this time, we had a location in the student center right in front of the food court. The Lord really blessed us, because this location has one of the highest amounts of foot traffic on campus.

The coordination among the saints each morning has been wonderful! The local saints testified that this gospel trip created many opportunities for the surrounding localities to be built up together. There has also been an increasing number of contacts from last year coming for Bible Studies or one on one appointments. This week, in addition to the continued sowing, our burden has shifted to contacting the new ones, followup, and appointments. The students are open!

John 4:35b— “Behold, I tell you, Lift up your eyes and look on the fields, for they are already white for harvest.”

These three days, we distributed roughly:

Tracts: 1291 Bibles: 126 Contacted: 151 Prayed to receive the Lord: 1 Scheduled second appointments: 2 Regular appointments: 2

Prayer Burdens:

  • Please pray that the enemy would be bound, mostly in terms of the opposition from the other clubs and certain professors.
  • Please pray for club status at the UTM campus. The student council has been slow to process our application.
  • Please pray that the Bible studies and distribution tables would attract more and more genuine seekers of the Lord.

Menifee, CA—Gospel Trip, Day 12

February 3, 2016

Today seven local saints participated in the distribution on MSJC campus. 40 Bibles were given out. Three prayed to receive the Lord. We had five appointments today.

Tomorrow will be the last day of distribution on MSJC campus. Please pray that it would be a good conclusion of our distribution at MSJC. May the Lord gain some solid, remaining contacts from this campus for His testimony here in Menifee.

Prayer burdens:

  • Please pray that the Lord would release more appointments tomorrow and bring some to the dinner and connect them to the local saints. Please also pray that the Lord would raise up some sisters to shepherd the open female students.
  • Please pray for the community door-knocking on Saturday (Feb. 6th) and for the follow-up of the open contacts from the previous Saturday.
  • Please pray for the local saints’ participation and the one accord.

Vallejo, CA—Gospel Trip, Days 4-5

February 2, 2016

On the fourth and fifth days in Vallejo, we continued door knocking and tabling in the community. In total, we gave out 190 tracts, 42 Bibles and had 53 solid conversations with 12 people who prayed to receive the Lord!

At a college campus, due to the regulations, the team did not aggressively approach the students in any way; however, 20 students reached the table to receive their Bibles! The students were very soft to the Word and open to meet with other believers. Many of them really appreciated the Recovery Version with the footnotes and were willing to use it for group Bible study!

We began following up of more than 20 contacts, who signed up for a free Bible offer through Facebook a week ago. May the Lord continues to gain these ones.

Prayer burdens:

  • Pray for the shepherding for the open ones.
  • Pray that the Lord would open the way for Bible study on Solano Community College (Vallejo center) campus.
  • Pray for 5 solid families to be gained in Vallejo who will not only appreciate the Bible and ministry but also able to perfect one another.

Santa Rosa, CA—Gospel Trip, Days 10-11

February 2, 2016

Thank you very much for all your prayers and for cooperating with the Lord’s move on earth and in the North Bay! The saints here are so thankful that the Lord is faithful to bring the seeking ones to us. Last night was the weekly study hall at the Sonoma House for all the new students. One of the students we met at SRJC last week and had a good time studying the book of Ephesians. He was so grateful to be with us and he said “thank you” at least five times to the host family for opening their home. He also had a Bible study appointment today with a brother to read Ephesians 3; afterwards he was so joyful!

Yesterday at SRJC, one of the trainee brothers brought his ukulele and the saints had a singing time. A student contact from last semester joined them and was very touched by the hymns. This student’s brother studies at SSU was also met by the trainees, and he is looking for Christian friends to pursue the Lord together! We are praying that these two siblings and even their whole family can be connected with the saints.

With many positive responses, we met two very soft and seeking students who called on the Lord’s name, prayed and received the Lord. One of them in today’s appointment realized for the first time that God sacrificed Himself to save us. While he was praying with us, he told the Lord he wanted to know Him more and that he loved the Lord. The other girl from SSU spent her lunch time with us to read through the Mystery of Human Life. She told us her being was warmed up by the word and calling on the Lord’s name. Tomorrow there will be a club fair in SSU. Please pray that many students will be attracted by the Lord and His Word and that the core students can be released from their schedules to function at this event.

Statistics (February 1-2):

Tracts: 558
Bibles: 39
Contacted (with information): 26
Prayed: 2
Second Appointments: 13

Prayer burdens:

  • Please pray that the Lord will release and establish the Bible Club in SRJC in a timely way to gather all the good contacts (15-20 students) to get into the Word and the church life.
  • That the positive new ones will be solidly connected with the community saints to be shepherded after the gospel trip,
  • For the all saints in the gospel trip to be richly supplied and strengthened by the Lord.

Peoria, IL—Gospel Trip, Day 12

February 2, 2016

It was raining today at Peoria’s Bradley University, so we weren’t able to have any BfA tables outside; however, the Lord sent some positive contacts to our indoor BfA table. Two contacts actually happily volunteered to give their information for further contact from the saints. A few volleyball players also came by and received Bibles. We were encouraged that even ones who did not take any literature were happy and encouraged that we were out on their campus.

A trainee and local saint had a first appointment with a new contact. When the two came back from the appointment, they were so joyous - there was a real sweet, mutual fellowship with this one. This new contact, a dear sister in the Lord, was really seeking the Lord and had a lot of enjoyment to share. She said that she would be able to come to this Friday’s home meeting; pray that the Lord would cover this time in her schedule to come.

We really feel that the Lord is working in Peoria and are thankful to participate in His labor.
