Missoula, MT/Cheney, WA—Gospel Trip, Day 5

January 27, 2016

We have had another wonderful day of truth-pursuit, attending the group Bible study on campus, and knocking on doors in the apartments.

This is the second day in a row where multiple of our groups have been warmly invited into the homes of many Middle Eastern students. Although we have also met many other typical Americans, these visits with the Middle Easterners have been such great experiences. They are so hospitable, sometimes letting us in after barely hearing our names. Most of them are from Saudi Arabia, and they enjoy speaking with us and getting to know us. One in particular said that he had read the Gospels and was interested in learning more about the Lord. After we spent a half an hour with him, he implored us to come see him again, his words being, “Please come back again so we can speak more together. My home is now your home.” Praise the Lord for such open and seeking ones in Cheney!

We also enjoyed participating in the church prayer meeting tonight. Our intercessory prayer with the Lord is really where most of the labor is done. Even in the last couple of days, the number of ones interested in further contact is quite a good amount, and we believe it is because we are endeavoring to do everything in the spirit of prayer.

Prayer burdens:

  • That the Lord would work in the hearts of the ones we have contacted to sanctify them to His purpose and that the evil one would not take away the word sown into them.
  • That the saints in Cheney would have the discernment and capacity to care for the truly seeking ones in the weeks and months to come, that these new contacts would ultimately be added to Christ’s church in a practical way.

Menifee, CA—Gospel Trip, Day 5

January 27, 2016

The Lord is moving on the third day of distribution on MSJC campus. Seven local saints joined us today in distribution. One of them is a brother relatively new in the church life. His participation was an encouragement and support to us.

Today we gave out 42 Bibles and contacted more than 50 people. One prayed to receive the Lord. We had two more appointments with Bible recipients and there are going to be five more appointments tomorrow. Several students are willing to come for Saturday dinner. The Lord is bringing open ones to us. O Lord, gain some solid contacts during these two weeks.

Prayer burdens:

  • Please pray for the follow-up of Bible recipients on the campus and continue to pray for the distribution at MSJC.
  • Please pray for the local saints’ participation and the one accord.
  • Please pray for the community door-knocking on Saturday (29th).

Laval, QC—Gospel Trip, Day 5

January 27, 2016

Praise the Lord that His word is spreading in Laval! Today, the team split up into subteams again and headed to three separate Metro stations to hand out Bibles. We met many who were seeking His word and passed out a total of 216 Bibles (174 French, 40 English, and 2 Spanish) and at least 460 tracts. Our prayers have been that not only many more would receive Bibles, but that they would also read them and allow the Lord’s word to operate in them.

The night was spent in the homes of the saints for dinner and blending. Our time was very enjoyable as we fellowshipped, shared testimonies, and prayed for one another. We left feeling not only physically satisfied but spiritually as well. It’s been a wonderful opportunity to blend with the saints here in Montreal and has been a great encouragement to the trainees.

Prayer burdens:

  • That the Lord would bless the Bible distributions for the rest of the week and that many more locals in Laval would receive a Bible.
  • That the Lord would release those who were interested in the Bible seminar and that all those who gave their contact information would receive the adequate follow up.
  • That the local saints and trainees would continue to enjoy the Lord as they continue to pass out Bibles and distribute door hangers.

Abbotsford, BC—Gospel Trip, Day 4

January 27, 2016

Today was our last distribution day at Cottonwood Mall, and we had higher traffic than we’ve had previously. We distributed ten Bibles (21 total at the mall), mostly to typical Canadians who were very warm and receptive toward our work there. The teams that went out door-knocking met several open persons, praying together with one, and gaining interest in some to attend the upcoming BfC seminar. Beginning tomorrow we will have our first venue at the Pacific Agricultural Show (PAS), the largest exhibition event for agricultural equipment and technology in the province.

Prayer burdens:

  • The Lord would continue to brood over this area and bring to us the sons of peace He has already been working in, especially at the PAS.
  • The shepherding and strengthening of the local saints through the visitation of their homes.

Santa Rosa, CA—Gospel Trip, Days 3-4

January 26, 2016

We are so encouraged that the Lord is faithful to grant us open and seeking ones through our prayers. The fields are already white for harvest! As of the past two days, 83 people gave their contact information to us and many would like to have a Bible study or further appointments. Last night we had 11 students, including new ones came to our meeting. One of them who met us during the day came to the dinner and fellowship later that night. Another genuine believer we met today told us he read Sit, Walk, Stand by Watchman Nee. He is very open to this ministry and wants to bring his friends to meet with us tomorrow.

Some stopped by our table and even had Bible studies with us immediately in the Student Center. At Santa Rosa Junior College, we were told not to go around the campus to actively initiate contact by passing out tracts but rather just to stay by the table. Still, the Lord faithfully brought many genuinely pursuing students who love the word. One student left his contact information and returned later to share some verses (Heb. 6:10-11) to encourage us! Please pray that no restriction will hinder the Lord’s move, but rather really reveal and bring the genuine seekers to us.

Team Statistics (as of January 25-26, 2016):
Bibles Passed Out: 78
Contacts (with information): 83
Bible Study Appointments: 6

Prayer burdens:

  • Many students will be committed to all the appointments - either Bible studies, dinner and fellowship, and/or college meeting.
  • All our promising contacts will make solid connections with the local saints.
  • Serving ones will be supplied abundantly to follow-up and shepherd each contact to meet their specific need.
