Reno, NV—Gospel Trip, Days 3-4

January 26, 2016

On the third and fourth day in Reno, we were tabling at the University of Nevada, Reno. The campus students were friendly and many received gospel tracts. We passed out 600+ tracts and gave away 101 New Testaments.

On the campus, we conversed with many students, who are in particular environments for them to know the Lord and to experience the Lord. We have been arranging appointments with the open students to connect to the local saints.

On Monday night, we invited the students to gather at a home near campus. One young man came and we had a cherishing dinner and nourishing time. He commented that he has never been in an atmosphere of singing and enjoying the Lord before. He felt he was helped by us to turn to the Lord.

Our sense is that many believers on the campus are limited in the objective knowledge and the subjective experience of the Lord.

Following the campus time, we meet at the campus house for reporting, coordinating, and praying. We treasure the fellowship in the Body so much, blending in a thorough way to match the Lord’s move and burden in Reno.

Prayer burdens:

  • Pray for the local saints to be burdened and to be enlarged in their capacity to shepherd
  • Pray for the proper follow up with the open ones and the appointments help them to touch the Lord
  • Pray for the Lord to gain key ones in Reno

Norfolk, VA—Gospel Trip, Days 1-4

January 26, 2016

Praise the Lord for Norfolk, VA! After some delays due to the weather, most of our team has arrived in Norfolk. We spent the past weekend meeting and blending with the saints. On Saturday, we helped clear out an elementary school where the Southeast Blending Conference will be held. That night, some of the trainees got to share their testimonies with the young people.

On Monday and Tuesday, we went to Old Dominion University to pass out Bibles. The students at ODU are very open! We handed out 190 Bibles at ODU these two days. Some of us had lunch with the friend of a trainee. We met at a sister’s house near campus and spontaneously had a time to read a booklet and sing. The student was open to meet with us again!

Prayer burdens:

  • That the seeking students would come to the seminar on Friday
  • That the Lord would release follow-up appointments with the seeking students
  • That the students would get connected to the local saints

Missoula, MT/Cheney, WA—Gospel Trip, Day 4

January 26, 2016

It has been our second day in Cheney, WA. We enjoyed another day of truth pursuit, the club Bible study on campus, and door knocking in student housing. We have been very much encouraged by the response from people (mostly students) while knocking on their doors. People have been warm and friendly and very open to listen to us share about the Lord. The number of people willing to spend time talking with us is really quite astounding and we praise the Lord that He has sent a hunger into this city to know more of God’s word. This reminds me of Amos 8:11, “Indeed days are coming, declares the Lord Jehovah, when I will send a hunger into the land, not a hunger for bread nor a thirst for water, but for hearing the words of Jehovah.”

During our afternoon door knocking, all three groups came in contact with Muslims. Two of these three groups met with these Muslims for 30 minutes in their apartment. One group of three Muslim men read with us through the Mystery of Human Life with much intrigue. We hope to be able to revisit most of these positive contacts again before the week is over.

Prayer burdens:

  • May the Lord continue to send a hunger into Cheney for hearing the words of the Lord through the saints.
  • May the Lord lead the saints in Cheney to spend time revisiting the genuinely seeking ones in order to help them grow in Christ.

Mississauga, ON—Gospel Trip, Days 1-4

January 26, 2016

Our trip started out this weekend with a tour of downtown Toronto, as well as a tour of the tabling sites and venues. In the young people’s meeting this past Saturday, the trainees were able to fellowship with the high school and college age students and share the experiences of being in the Full Time Training. On top of reaching out to the unbelievers on the campuses and at the supermarkets, our burden is also to blend with, strengthen, and encourage the saints in Mississauga and in the surrounding localities.

Today was our first day passing out Bibles at the University of Toronto - Mississauga campus (UTM). This past Lord’s Day, the saints in Toronto helped in packaging over 1,000 New Testament Recovery Versions in 45 minutes. It is a joy for us to pray and labor with the saints in the surrounding localities. UTM is a very diverse school, which makes it a great fishing pond for students of all nationalities. We’ve handed out Bibles to Caucasians, Africans, African Americans, Asians, Hispanics, and also Middle Eastern students. There was one girl who came up to the table holding a tract in her hand saying, “I read this, I read this!” We could tell from her eyes and speech that she was desperately seeking the truth. She came to the table on her own after being impressed with the tract.

Today, we distributed:

Tracts: 1,078
Bibles: 64
Contacted: 74
Prayed to receive the Lord: 1

The people are open! Please continue to pray for the Lord’s move to Mississauga.

Prayer burdens:

  • Please pray for the young people in Toronto, that they would pray to the Lord considering going to the FTTA.
  • Please pray for the weather to be not too severe in order to maximize the foot traffic and to facilitate our contact with people (i.e. no blizzards, not too much snow).
  • Please pray that the tract/Bible recipients would have a hunger for the Word and would come back to us for appointments, Bible studies, or further contact.

Menifee, CA—Gospel Trip, Day 4

January 26, 2016

Praise the Lord for the 2nd day of distribution on MSJC. Today we gave out 33 Bibles. Several students requested for Bible study when they received the Bible. We had our first appointment with a student who received a Bible yesterday. We had lunch with him and his younger sister. There are also two future appointments tomorrow and on Thursday with two other students.

In tonight’s prayer meeting, over 20 saints came to pray for the Lord’s move on MSJC campus. There is a burden of starting a club and restoring five dormant students who are children of the saints. There is also a burden of having more young couples and full-timers. Let us pray to bind the strong man and plunder his house for the Lord to gain building materials from this campus.

Prayer burdens:

  • Please pray for the follow-up of Bible recipients on the campus and continue to pray for the distribution at MSJC.
  • Please pray for the local saints’ participation and the one accord.
  • Please pray for the community door-knocking on Saturday (29th).
