Orlando, FL—Gospel Trip, Report 4

January 31, 2020

Below are the report and statistics of the gospel trip in Orlando, Florida from Thursday (1/30/20) through Sunday (2/2/20).

Thursday (1/30/20)

As a team, we drove to Kissimmee, which is about an hour drive from Orlando, to blend with the saints and table at Valencia South-Osceola. About 10 local saints from Kissimmee and Orlando joined our morning coordination and helped distribute Bibles, hold up signs, and speak with the students. Unexpectedly, a student we met on Monday at Seminole State decided to join our coordination and help the team with our Bible distribution. The turn-out was very positive with students coming to the table the entire time. Three students prayed to receive the Lord, with one being a Muslim who was interested in hearing about Jesus in the Bible. During our time there we brought a ukulele and guitar to sing. Many students were attracted by the singing and approached us voluntarily.

Statistics:

  • Tracts: 66
  • Bibles: 95
  • Basic Elements of the Christian Life: 81
  • Contacts: 91
  • Came to Home Meeting: 1
  • Received the Lord: 3

Prayer Burdens:

  • Two out of the 12 trainees on our team have been sick for the past few days and have been unable to participate in the schedule. Pray that the Lord would grant them a quick recovery to be able to have them back with us.
  • Forty to sixty saints in Kissimmee are currently meeting in a home on the Lord’s Day as the south district of the church in Orlando. The church in Orlando meeting hall is about an hour away, so they are burdened that the Lord would continue to move and provide a way for them to have a local meeting hall as the church in Kissimmee.
  • Valencia South-Osceola campus is very open to the gospel and the Recovery Version. Pray for consistent follow-up with these students and that they could be connected to the local saints.

Columbia, SC—Gospel Trip, Report 2

January 31, 2020

On Tuesday we split up into twos and threes and also set up a table in front of the student center: Russell House. We were able to give out 57 Bibles and 214 tracts, and 12 people signed up for further contact in the span of 2.5 hours. The Lord sovereignly arranged 3 very positive second appointments for Tuesday and many meaningful conversations. The response has been very positive on the USC Columbia campus with many open and seeking students. What we have seen and felt is that the fields are white, and the campus is just waiting for the workers to come. In the evening we were able to blend with some of the local saints at Lake Murray and have dinner at their house. It was a very wonderful and sweet time of singing and getting to know each other.

On Wednesday we did not set up a table on campus but instead took a “gospel stroll” around campus and had 3 second appointments arranged from Tuesday’s tabling. We separated into 3 main areas around campus and walked around with Bibles and tracts. We were able to give away 93 Bibles and have 23 meaningful conversations. The response was very positive and the feeling was that little to no effort on our part was made. Instead, it was the Lord who was operating and blessing. We are seeing more and more that the Lord has wonderfully prepared everything for us, and we are just presenting our bodies to be one with Him for His work.

Today, the trainees were dropped off at different locations around campus with boxes of bibles. Praise the Lord, very few boxes came back!

Statistics:

Bibles: 342
Tracts: 516
Contacted: 127

Prayer Burdens:

  • That the Lord would open up MORE second appointments and there would be at least five solid contacts by the end of the week
  • That the Lord would release FOUR students to come to the Thursday dinner.
  • For more saints to be added to the church in Columbia through migration and local increase.

Minneapolis, MN—Gospel Trip, Report 2

Tuesday, January 28

In the morning we came together to coordinate at the campus house. We enjoyed the Lord by singing and praying and read a portion of “The Age of the One New Man.” Afterward we went through all the contacts that we met yesterday. A number of students came up to the table yesterday and had positive interactions with the trainees. Most of them left their phone numbers and said that they were interested in joining a Bible study this semester. Fourteen more students were contacted on campus by going out two by two. We prayed for the Lord to release a second contact with these ones and that the Lord would give us remaining fruit through all these contacts.

We set up a table today again at the University of Minnesota for five hours. There were no sign-ups at the table today, but we passed out a number of flyers, tracts, and Bibles to ones that were interested. Going around campus, we also met a few students that were open to meet up again for fellowship. Two trainees met a freshman at the university who was raised in a Christian home. We hope the Lord will release another appointment with her in the upcoming week to get into the Word.

Statistics:

  • Flyers: 400
  • Tracts: Around 350
  • Contacts: 7
  • Bibles given: 3

Wednesday, January 29

This morning we had a brief coordination and went to campus to put up flyers for the Thursday seminar. The trainees split up into groups to put up 200 flyers. Even in this matter, we realized that this was a spiritual warfare and we needed much prayer for the Lord’s interest on this campus. We prayed that the Lord would open the students’ eyes to see this event and He would have a free way to gain what He is after here. A few trainees had lunch appointments with students. In the afternoon, a few sisters went to go meet a student at a local coffee shop. The girl brought her high school friend and we had a positive contact with both of them. They even offered to take us around the city next week. After dinner, we joined the Wednesday night Bible study on campus. We went over John 6, talking about how the Lord came as the bread of life, and that we can take Him in as food by pray-reading the Word. At the end of the Bible study, we practiced pray-reading in smaller groups. There were 21 people at the Bible study, including eight students. Out of the eight, one came for the first time.

One of the highlights from today was when two brothers went to have lunch with a student they met on the first day on campus. The student grew up in a Lutheran home and now meets at both a Lutheran church and a Catholic church. He admitted that he is at the stage in his life where he is unsure about his faith and is wondering about the meaning of his life. The brothers ended up sharing about how they became Christians and how God’s purpose in creating man was to have man express Him. He was open to meeting us again to find out more about the meaning of human life and God’s eternal purpose.

Airdrie, AB—Gospel Trip, Report 2

January 30, 2020

Jesus is Lord on the college campuses in Calgary! In these past two days we have been able to distribute 64 Bibles. Twenty-four Bibles were distributed at the University of Calgary in the past three days. On January 28th, our goal was to distribute ten Bibles. We had ten minutes left before tabling ended and only four Bibles had been distributed. As we prayed for our goal to be met in the last ten minutes, two Christian ladies came who were so happy to meet us. They took six Bibles. Praise the Lord!

Three trainees and two local saints participated in distributing 40 Bibles in three hours at SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology). Many approached the table with a hunger for the word and seven desired further contact. Although there is currently no Christian club, there is a burden that a weekly Bible study could be held for those interested to have Christian fellowship on campus.

On Tuesday, we had the college meeting where we spoke on the Full-Time Training. Five trainees spoke on the five pillars of the training and two gave their testimony on how the Lord brought them to the training. After the meeting, we all enjoyed each other’s sharing so much that we wished we could sign up for the training all over again! Students came up to us after the meeting to open up questions and concerns they had regarding the training. We believe this time was really used by the Lord and we thank the saints for praying for this time.

Prayer Burdens:

  • For there to be a Christian club at SAIT and for the community saints to enter into the burden for the students at SAIT.
  • For the next three Bible distributions and our ongoing appointments with college students.
  • For the health of the trainees and the local saints in Airdrie.
  • For the college perfecting meeting this Saturday, February 1.

Orlando, FL—Gospel Trip, Report 3

January 30, 2020

Wednesday (1/29/20)

We began the day with coordination and prayer. Three trainees and two local saints went to Seminole State Oviedo campus to table. Very few students saw us at the table we were assigned and we were across from the Jehovah’s Witness group. The influx of students increased after 12pm when class got out, and more people stopped by the table and some seekers received Bibles. One faculty member was impressed and expressed interest in wanting a Christian club on campus!

The other trainees and local saints tabled again at UCF right outside of the student center. The location was excellent, being right outside the main door. Many students stopped by the table and some showed interest in coming to Friday night’s college meeting. Another table was set up in the free speech zone and received some traction from students. The table by the UCF student center ran out of Bibles!

The trainees enjoyed dinners at their hospitalities and got together for the prayer meeting. Some went to the Spanish speaking prayer meeting. All prayed for the recent contacts.

Statistics:

Tracts: 51
Bibles: 66
Basic Elements of the Christian Life: 47
Prayed/Called on the Lord: 1
Contacts: 90

Prayer Burdens:

  • The nearly 200 contacts we’ve received would get the proper follow-up and prayer
  • The Lord would continue to bless our prayer and coordination as we enjoy oneness in Spirit!
