Santa Rosa/Novato, CA—Gospel Trip, Day 13
Praise the Lord that we had a Bible study at the student dorm with five freshman girls this evening. Two local sisters joined one trainee sister to facilitate the Bible study. In the beginning we spent some time to get to know each other. Some of them have never read the Bible before so we started with Matthew chapter 1. The students also got connected with each other and would like to keep this Thursday Bible study time at the dorm. One student that we met very briefly last week stopped by the Bible club table again and joined us for dinner at the saint’s house. He also had a short Bible study after dinner with some brothers. He is a Christian and we read and fellowshipped some verses and footnotes in Revelation. On Tuesday (2/3) night we sent out a survey to find out the Bible study time for the rest of the semester and as of today (2/5) ten students have responded. Please pray that the Lord will continue draw all these students and preserve them a pure heart to pursue Him.
Prayer burdens:
- SSU Campus—Please pray that the Lord will release and bring many students to the college meeting this Friday (2/6).
- Please pray for the Bible studies the rest of this semester, that many student would be captured and supplied by the Word of God.
- Please pray for current twenty core student contacts, that they would enjoy and remain in the church, grow in life, and be normal functioning members of the Body of Christ.
- Community—Please pray for the revisit of the warm doors we gained in door knocking. May the Lord warm their heart through our revisit and open up more opportunities for further fellowship. We expect 56 saints from Northern California to join us this Saturday 2/7 to continue the door knocking in Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park. May the Lord gain some open homes in the community through the saints’ visits!
- Please pray that the Lord would burden some young saints, families, and serving ones to move to this white field.
Salt Lake City, UT—Gospel Trip, Days 13-14
Praise the God of resurrection, who not only does great things for us, but also imparts Himself into us. Wednesday, we distributed 37 Bible-study invitations and had three appointments with students, as well as one-on-one shepherding appointments with our full-timer. Thank you Lord for the fellowship in the Body. Then we gathered for ribs and nonstop hymning with saints who love to sing at the Aviles’ household.
Thursday was our last day on campus and the last day the Peevy’s from ABQ would join us in our labor. After we bid some farewells, we had two appointments on campus with students and more shepherding appointments with our full-timer. Thursday evening was our second Bible study of the semester; six new ones attended, five of which were returning ones from last week. Thank you Lord they came back!
The Bible study was a definite highlight. We went over Romans 1:18-21, how God is truth and the invisible things of Him are made manifest in creation. It was a time of wonder, and many good conversations were released. In addition, divine connections were formed between new students and ours. At one table, there were two new contacts who were at very different places in their human life and Christian life, but the Lord was able to meet all the needs of everyone there. It was wonderful!
Prayer burdens:
- CONTINUATION: At this point, we have a small handful of consistent contacts. Please pray for the Lord to cause the growth in life in our current students and the local saints, so that there would be a continued care in feeding and nourishing for the new contacts. Plainly speaking, we only have two student Chinese-speaking sisters at the U, and there is a concern that the language and cultural barrier would hinder this continued care for our contacts. Pray the Lord would have a way to overcome this.
- HOME MEETING: Pray that B, J, T, and M would make it to the home meeting tomorrow night and become connected to a home.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA—Gospel Trip, Day 14
Today was an active day at Chaffey College. In addition to students approaching our table to order a free Bible we had a wonderful Bible study appointment with a female student who is really seeking. She was really impressed with the Bible study. She stated that she really enjoyed it and that she wants to continue having appointments every week!
At this evening’s dinner we were joined by a new couple and their son. They are very open to the saints and the fellowship with the saints. This evening they fellowshipped for two and a half hours at the host’s home. The mother was even willing to invite some of the saints to her house on Lord’s Day after the gospel meeting. May the Lord gain this household for Christ and the church!
Prayer burdens:
- Final gospel meeting on Lord’s Day, February 8, 2015—that the Lord would bring many English-speaking new ones and that they would be remaining fruits of the gospel.
- Twenty remaining fruit in Rancho Cucamonga
- Five English-speaking families to migrate to Rancho Cucamonga
- That the Lord may have a lampstand in Rancho Cucamonga
Rancho Cucamonga, CA—Gospel Trip, Day 13
Today was a wonderful day spent blending with the local saints. We went to a regional park to hike and get a breath of fresh air, away from the business of the world’s activities. Even the elderly saints were with us on our hike this morning. They may not be as young as many of us are physically, but their spirit surely is strong and active. They were not only strong in spirit but also were strong physically as evident in their energy and ability to walk up and down the hills. We concluded our hike with lunch and mutual fellowship. There was not only physical food to feast on but spiritual food as well as some saints shared their testimonies. May the Lord continue to bless, supply and encourage the local saints here with much grace!
Prayer burdens:
- Gospel meetings on Friday, February 6, 2015 and Lord’s Day, February 8, 2015—that the Lord would bring many English-speaking ones, that they would be saved and baptized, and that they would be remaining fruits of the gospel.
- Twenty remaining fruit in Rancho Cucamonga
- Five English-speaking families to migrate to Rancho Cucamonga
- That the Lord may have a lampstand in Rancho Cucamonga

Lafayette, IN—Gospel Trip, Days 4-6
Praise the Lord for what He is doing in Lafayette, Indiana. The time at Purdue University has been very encouraging. So far we have distributed 175 Bibles and seven have prayed to receive the Lord. Lately what we have been doing here, beside giving away Bibles, is having appointments with students. There have been really promising ones who are very consistent with their appointments. A student in particular received the Lord Jesus and after receiving the Lord he thanked us for saving him. He was so happy and is looking forward to having an appointment this week. He has been texting to remind us we are still meeting with him for this appointment to study the Bible. Also, through an appointment a student received the Lord and wants to join for the seminar we are having on Friday.
Moreover, a family from Bloomington who were in the church life in Belize and is related to a GTCA participant, came and spent the whole day with him. He was happy he could see not only his relative but hear that there were saints in Indianapolis. Right away they got connected with local saints and are open for saints to visit them.
Dear saints, we have felt your prayers. The work at Purdue University is very motivating. Students have come to get Bibles and asked us if they can have some for their friends and for their parents. The Lord is really feeding the people here in this part of America.
Prayer burdens:
- For the seminars to be held on Friday and Saturday. Students will be able to attend. Please pray that the Lord will free their schedules so that they can come.
- Please continue to pray for the distribution of the Bibles; there are very genuine students who demonstrate a seeking heart to have Bible studies and appointments.
- Please pray for the Lord to meet the need here in Lafayette, for a family to receive a burden to migrate here in this locality.
- Please pray for the rest of the GTCA time here in Lafayette, that the Lord will strengthen each member in the team with power into the inner man
Thank you saints for all your prayers. We realize that without your prayers we would have not made this far. We really treasure your heart for Lafayette.
