Birmingham, AL—Gospel Trip, Days 4-7

January 29, 2015

These past four days we have had a table on the University of Alabama in Birmingham campus. A majority of the students on this campus already believe in the Lord and already have a Bible. Our prayer is that the ones who receive the Recovery Version study Bible would open it and read it! Pray that these Christians would come to the full knowledge of the truth and that the Word would be real to them! We have distributed 218 Bibles, 218 Basic Elements, and 25 ministry books. We’ve had 45 who have requested further contact and had appointments with five students from the table.

We met a freshman UAB student on Monday at the table. Earlier that day, he had accepted the Lord into his life and prayed that the Lord would guide him. While he was walking to class, he saw our table from across the street. He had decided that he wasn’t going to speak to anyone unless someone spoke to him first. A few minutes later, he received a Bible and gave us his contact information. That evening, he came to a home meeting and asked when the next home meeting would be. He came to another home meeting last night and really enjoyed the fellowship and singing. Lord, continue drawing this one! Pray that he would continue coming to the homes to be built up with the saints in Birmingham.

We are going on a hiking trip this Saturday and are inviting many of the new ones we’ve contacted during the week. Please pray for this time!

We’ve enjoyed gathering in the homes of two others who are new to the church life. These ones have been meeting with the saints in Birmingham and have opened their homes for the first time. Each made plans to invite neighbors, friends, and family members. Lord, thank you for these open homes! Please pray for household salvation of the four ones who’ve opened their homes.

Huntsville, TX—Gospel Trip, Days 3-4

January 28, 2015

Activity highlights—1/27/15:

  • Praise the Lord, Hallelujah! The Lord afforded us another glorious day in the distribution of His Word. Although today was a pretty warm day the Lord supplied us with Himself as we kept enjoying Him while contacting people and giving them Bibles and ministry books. We were really encouraged seeing how many students are open to receive the Bibles and books.
  • There was one student who was saved a few months ago and was very happy to receive a study Bible along with the ministry books, he was so thankful that he asked if he could pray for the continuing of the Bible distribution before he went to class.
  • In total today we were able to give out 91 Bibles, 191 ministry books, 102 tracts. Hallelujah!
  • Tonight we had small group gathering with the saints a time to enjoy the Lord singing and eating dinner! Two girls from campus we contacted through the BfA distribution and a friend of one of our students came to the time. Both of the girls were so happy to have been able to come and were really encouraged to go on in the Lord.
  • 2 Thessalonians 3:1—”Finally, brothers, pray concerning us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, even as it is also with you.”

Activity highlights—1/28/15:

  • John 6:35—“Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall by no means hunger, and he who believes into Me shall by no means ever thirst.” Today this has truly been our testimony. After three days of being on this campus many more students made their way over to the table to receive their free New Testament Recovery Bible as well as the free ministry books.
  • Overall today has been the most we have given out with a total of 92 Bibles, 207 ministry books, 103 gospel tracts. Praise the Lord for so many hungry and seeking ones!
  • We have four more days in Huntsville and our prayer is that from all the positive responses, some would be open for further contact for the remainder of the time in order to connect some with the saints here.
  • Tonight we joined the saints for prayer for the upcoming blending weekend with students from Arlington as well as Saturday’s community door knocking and Bible distribution. Thank you all for your prayers and petitions.

Prayer burdens:

  • Pray that all the Bible recipients will feed on the Word through reading their Bible.
  • May the Lord stir in some seeking ones to be open to more contact
  • Upcoming blending with students from Arlington
  • Saturday’s community door knocking and Bible distribution

Mississauga, Canada—Gospel Trip, Days 3-4

January 28, 2015

On Tuesday, we started our first day of Bible distribution at the University of Toronto Mississauga. Our schedule is 9:00-10:00 AM for corporate time on campus, and 10:00-3:00 for Bible distribution. At night, we went to the nearby city Brampton, for the prayer meeting.

On Wednesday, the school moved our table to a new location due to a campus event, but praise the Lord, plenty of students still came to the table. Two of the team members went to meet some newly saved local saints, and the simple visitation became a four hour appointment. The day was very encouraging because we had our first student come to our Bible study. Later that evening, we joined the Mississauga local saints’ prayer meeting. There were approximately 15 local saints who joined us. A brother and a college age saint went to visit a brother who was carried away during to the turmoil. The visitation was quite profitable and yielded a very positive response.

On our second day on the campus at UTM, some students began to approach us before we even finished setting up the table. Two of them already owned their own Bibles, but received Recovery Versions after we explained all of the features to them.

Prayer burdens:

  • Pray to gain the UTM campus for the Lord’s move in Mississauga.
  • Pray that there will be more students attending the Bible studies and having appointment with us.
  • Pray for more visitation to the local saints, especially the weaker ones, and for them to be fully recovered.
  • Pray also for more open homes.

Fargo, ND—Gospel Trip, Days 5-6

January 28, 2015

Activity highlights—1/28/15:

  • Today was our second day with a gospel table at North Dakota State University (NDSU). 27 Bibles were given out and seven prayed to receive the Lord.
  • During an appointment, a sister (sister R) expressed a desire to be baptized. She is considering being baptized this upcoming Saturday.
  • Another student approached the table, received a Bible and met with the sisters later in the afternoon for an appointment. She was, “looking for a mother figure to spend time with as a mentor.” Sovereignly, she attended the Bible seminar tonight and was connected with a local sister who recently migrated here. Hallelujah! The Lord is meeting the needs of both the students and the local saints.
  • We had a Bible seminar tonight on our human spirit and 12 new students were able to attend.

Activity highlights—1/29/15:

  • At NDSU we gave out 35 Bibles with 10 praying to receive the Lord.
  • The sisters had two appointments. One with sister R who wants to be baptized this Saturday. The Lord also released another follow-up appointment with sister A, who we’ve had four appointments with her in two days, and first thing she pulled out her Bible and asked, “How do I get into this?” She is hungry and seeking for the Lord!
  • Brother A received a Bible on Wednesday the 28th, attended the Bible seminar later that evening and tonight came to a home meeting. He really enjoyed his time and would like to come to the conference on Saturday. He is an exchange student from Brazil.
  • At Minnesota State University at Moorhead (MSUM) we gave out 24 Bibles with four praying to receive the Lord.
  • There was one follow-up appointment with Sister S. She opened up regarding her situation and how she received the Lord. She desires further fellowship with the sisters and is open for Skype appointments.
  • A contact from previous years, Sister A visited the table and may be able to make it this weekend for the mini conference.

Prayer burdens:

  • The Lord would baptize sister R this Saturday.
  • The students would continue to be connected with the saints and be gained as remaining fruit for the Lord’s testimony in Fargo!
  • The Lord would bring Sister A (MSUM) this weekend for the mini conference and connect them both with the local saints.
  • The Lord would increase Sister A’s (NDSU) appetite for the word and the ministry and that she would continue to be solidly connected with the local saints (Sister D).
  • The Lord would reveal Himself and His building as His goal to Brother A this weekend.

Fort Myers—Gospel Trip, Day 3

January 28, 2015

Today we went to the campus again and had a Bibles for America table. Many students are coming to the tables. We have passed out around 65 Bibles in total. Also as a team we have gone out on the gospel to pass out tracts and other booklets such as Basic Elements of the Christian Life and have used them to preach the gospel. Most of the students whether believers or not are very open to us and to the ministry.

In one outing, two brothers went out and talked to a freshman with a Lutheran background. He is currently reading the book of Proverbs. We then asked him about Proverbs 20:27, which talks about the spirit of man which is the lamp of Jehovah and asked this student what this means. He didn’t know. By reading chapter 1 of Basic Elements of the Christian Life, we were able to explain the meaning of this verse as well as the three parts of man. This portion really fed and nourished this one.

Prayer burdens:

Tomorrow we will be having a Bible study at noon as well as three home meetings at night. We have over 90 contacts total and our goal is to have at least 30 come to the Bible study. Please pray for these times.
