Santa Rosa/Novato, CA—Gospel Trip, Day 2
We attended our first Lord’s Table meeting in Novato with eighteen local saints. We praise the Lord for the sweet church life here. The saints have been enjoying a three-week material on consecration, and all the saints are deeply touched by how normal and indispensable it is to walk the way of consecration in our day to day living. Many praises, prayers and consecrations are freshly offered to the Lord. After the prophesying meeting we had a love feast with all the saints and enjoyed a precious blending time together.
During the evening we had our coordination time to prepare for tomorrow’s gospel outreach. We will have one team going to Sonoma State University (SSU) and one team go door-knocking in the nearby community. We ended our coordination time with strong prayers that the Lord would flow freely through us during the next two weeks and gain many young open hearts.
We are all very encouraged that the Lord is faithful to guide us through our prayers. “You should go forth and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain,” (John 15:16). One sister brought two of her friends from SSU for dinner tonight, both of them are freshmen and have some Catholic background. We shared some of our stories on how we touched the church life and how we experienced the Lord in our college years. Both of them are very open and positive, and they prayed with us after dinner.
Prayer burdens:
- Please pray for the gospel outreach tomorrow, that the Lord would flow freely through the saints and gain many seekers in this area.
- Please pray for the campus work on SSU, that the Lord will gain five core students and fifteen solid contacts who will remain in the bible study and enjoy the church life during this semester
- Please pray for the two students that we met today, that the Lord would touch them in a deeper way, supply them in all situations through His Word, strengthen their connections with the saints, and make them living and functioning members in the Body of Christ.
Salem, OR—Gospel Trip, Days 1-2
On Saturday, 1/24, we had three BfA distribution tables set up at three local Wal-Marts in Salem. Nearly all the local saints participated along with several saints from nearby localities. At each of the tables we met many positive contacts and were able to read people’s favorite verses to them and show them the corresponding footnotes. Many were encouraged or even shocked to see the riches in the Recovery Version footnotes and happily accepted a free study Bible with accompanying literature. In total we passed out 148 Bibles and ministry books, 47 tracts, and contacted 114 people, one of which prayed with us to receive the Lord.
On Lord’s Day, 1/25, we joined the Lord’s Table in Salem. Then we held a Bible seminar where we invited those given Bibles at the distribution tables as well as ones who received Bibles in the surrounding area. Though none of these contacts attended the seminar, one sister who has family that meets with the saints in California attended and was very helped by the seminar. She said that the seminar was what she needed. She received a Bible from her son but wasn’t very comfortable with using it. After the seminar she feels more comfortable and able to use her Recovery Version. Praise the Lord!
Prayer burdens:
- We will be following up with the ones we distributed Bibles to at Wal-Mart to set up appointments for further contact with those open to being contacted. Please pray for the saints contacting these ones and for the Lord to prepare ones who are open and willing to meet with the saints and are seeking fellowship.
- We will be following up with the ones we distributed Bibles to at Wal-Mart to set up appointments for further contact with those open to being contacted. Please pray for the saints contacting these ones and for the Lord to prepare ones who are open and willing to meet with the saints and are seeking fellowship.
- We will be visiting two college campuses over the next two days for Bible distributions. Please pray for these two distribution times on the campuses in Salem.
Rancho Cucamonga, CA—Gospel Trip, Day 3
Activity highlights:
- In trying to locate the venue for the Lord’s Table meeting this morning, one of the sisters got lost and asked for assistance from someone who was coming for another meeting in the same area. He escorted her to the meeting place and a couple of the saints introduced themselves to him. He seemed to be seeking; the saints invited him to the gospel meetings.
- In the afternoon we went out to do gospel outreach, for which a newly saved one who was baptized six months ago drove from his home a few miles away to join us. In fact, he has joined us for all gospel activities this weekend.
- This evening we gathered together for prayer, singing, and fellowship. The time concluded with a few of the saints sharing their testimony and experiences of gospel outreach in the past. This was such good encouragement and mutual fellowship for the team and local saints.
Prayer burdens:
- One accord and coordination among the team and the local saints.
- Follow-up with those contacted—that they would remain open and willing.
- Gospel meeting on Tuesday, January 27, 2015—that many would come and that the Lord would richly bless this meeting with remaining fruit.
Merced, CA—Gospel Trip, Days 1-2
Praise the Lord for the church in Merced! We arrived on Saturday, January 24 and right when we arrived, we joined a welcome-back dinner for the Merced College and UC Merced Bible study. This time was intimate and sweet with about 18 students. Many of them were very new and some were even there for the first time, but they were open to fellowship and were extremely receptive to God’s economy. We ended the night by calling on the Lord in five different languages! It was the first time many of them called on the Lord audibly with others and in their native tongue!
Today, we set up two BfA distribution tables at the Merced Mall, one with English materials and another with Spanish materials. It was encouraging to see that almost all of the saints from the church participated in the distribution of the Bible and various tracts. There were many local contacts of all different ages and stages. Many appreciated the interpretation of the Word with the footnotes and were very open to further contact with the saints. Near the end of our distribution, we ran out of English Bibles so there were even several ones who said that they would be coming back the next week to pick up their own Bible!
Prayer burdens:
- We will be contacting the ones who have given us their contact information this week. Pray that the church would rise up and adequately follow-up with all of these positive ones.
- Pray for UC Merced and Merced College and the receptiveness of the students to the gospel, Bible studies, and BfA distribution.
- Pray for the health of the trainees and laboring saints.

Wickliffe, Ohio—Gospel Trip, Day 1
Praise the Lord we have arrived to Wickliffe, Ohio! The time here has been glorious. We started with much fellowship and enjoyment in the Word and coordination. Today we had orientation and we got to know many of the local saints. Many prayers were offered to consecrate this week to the Lord so that He will have a way to gain what He is after for His testimony here in Wickliffe. Many college students currently attending Cleveland State University (CSU) and Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) joined us in the second orientation and are so excited for the time here.
Prayer burdens:
- Tomorrow we will be having our first gospel activity; we are going door knocking. Please pray for this time that the Lord would gain the many sons of peace, and that Satan will be put to shame in this city. Also pray that that the weather will not hinder this time tomorrow.
- There is a couple who recently got recovered into the church life and are burden for their son to be baptized. Tomorrow his friend is having a birthday party and this couple is burdened that their son’s friend will also get baptized.
- Also pray for the two major campus CSU and CWRU. We will be having tables for the whole week and pray that many will come to the table to get their free Recovery Version.
- Lastly, pray that the Lord will bless us with much coordination by bringing us into the one accord for this time here in Wickliffe.
