Huntsville, TX—Gospel Trip, Days 10-12
2/3/15: Today was a pretty cold day so we set up our BfA table at two locations. One was inside and the other was outside the Lamar Student Center. Although the weather was cold it did not deter many seeking students to come and receive their free study Bible and ministry books. In total 68 Bibles and 50 ministry books were distributed. Many of them wanted further contact so we pray the Lord would have a way to get His seeking ones connected with the saints. In the evening we enjoyed a time of singing and dinner. A few new students came and joined us, of which one we are praying to be saved. We are also praying that they would be opened to get baptized. Lord release these baptisms!
2/4/15: Today we continued our Bible and ministry books distribution. Our order of ministry books arrived so we were able to pass out more ministry books to new students as well as those who did not receive the first few days due to us running out. The response from the students was very positive with most willing to take a few minutes to talk to us about what we were doing. Many of these ones were interested in further contact. Today 54 New Testament Bibles and 101 ministry books were distributed on the campus. Tonight we had dinner at the meeting hall with the saints and had the prayer meeting afterwards.
2/5/15: Revelation 3:8—“I know your works; behold, I have put before you an opened door which no one can shut, because you have a little power and have kept My word and have not denied My name.”
Praise the Lord for all He has done and all that He will continue to do! Today was our last day of distributing Bibles and ministry books. We are very grateful to the Lord for the opportunity He afforded us in being part of this gospel trip to Huntsville/Beaumont. We really had an experience of the Lord putting before us an open door which no one can shut. Although these localities are small (little power) the Lord cares not for our doing much for Him but our doing our best with what we have. We are very much encouraged with the testimony the Lord has gained in each of these localities. We are very thankful to all the saints who received us with much love. You all have been written in our hearts and we will keep remembering our time spent with you all. Although we depart our prayer will continue for the Lord’s testimony in both Huntsville and Beaumont. Praise the Lord for the building He has done and the building He is obtaining! In total for today, 69 Bibles and 192 ministry books were given out. For the two weeks a total of about 690 Bibles, 1,200 ministry books, and 750 gospel tracts were given out. Hallelujah!
Prayer burdens:
- That the Lord would brood over this campus and many more seeking students would come and receive a study Bible
- Second contact/appointments with some of the students who indicated their desire for further contact
- The Lord would bless our last day on campus distributing Bibles
- Some new students would come to tomorrow’s God’s Economy class on campus as well as dinner at a family’s home
